Funplexed

Last night Dr. Jeff and I attended the B-52s release party for Funplex at Socialista and chatted a bit with Jake Shears, Fred Schneider, and Baby Daddy. Years ago I remember talking about electro with Baby Daddy at the Eagle and he said something like, "Oh, I'm in a band. It's called Scissor Sisters." And I just nodded and said, "Oh. Cool." Heh.

Tons of movers and shakers were in the house last night, including Next Magazine editor Brian Moylan and Fly Life's Carmen Cacciatore and Martha Tang, who always throw a great party. Funplex comes out tomorrow. The guy in the pic with me is named William. I think. Great party.

Funplex!

The B-52's are streaming Funplex, the first single from their album of the same name, over on their MySpace page. The single is now available on iTunes, the album drops on March 25th.

This is the first new album for the B's in sixteen years. Did I ever mention that I got evicted from my first apartment in 1979 thanks to the B-52's? "Tenant persists in playing loud annoying sound-effects records." Thank you, Planet Claire.
