Quote Of The Day - Joe The Plumber
"Wanting a white Republican president doesn’t make you racist, it just makes you American. In the pre-black president era, criticizing the president was simply the American thing to do. An exercise of one’s First Amendment right. Criticism had nothing to do with color, because there had never been a black president, or at least one whom people recognized as black. So to criticize the president meant that you didn’t like his policies. The election of a recognized black president was not supposed to change anything. In fact, it was supposed to (1) ease any perceived racial tensions, and (2) allow the government to focus on legislating without race. So America would be more free than ever to discuss the issues. Not the case. And that is why having a white Republican president is best for the country." - Joe The Plumber, writing on his website. (Tipped by JMG reader Doug)

Joe The Plumber: I'm Being Oppressed!
"Remember how the leftwing media crucified Sarah Palin in the 2008 election? Well, now they've made Joe the Plumber their new target. Since winning my primary, the media has made it their number one mission to discredit my candidacy and annihilate my character. I've been painted as a bigot, told I'm not qualified to serve in Congress, and lectured on live TV as if I'm a schoolboy in the principal's office. No, I didn't earn a degree at Harvard, I haven't worked on Wall Street, and I don't make a six-figure salary. I'm a normal American, just like you. I served my country in the military and I've worked day and night to provide for my family. If that doesn't qualify a man to run for Congress, I don't know what does." - GOProud's BFF, Samuel Werzelbacher, in an emailed plea for money.Labels: 2012 elections, GOP, Joe The Plumber

GOProud Issues Joint Statement With
Sam "Joe The Plumber" Werzelbacher
"The left and their friends in the main stream media don’t want to talk about the issue most Americans in this country today care about – jobs. Instead, they want a culture war. They want a culture war because they cannot defend this President’s record of failure when it comes to creating jobs and growing our economy. They hope to cynically distract Americans to protect President Obama and his liberal allies in Congress in November." - From a joint statement issued today by GOProud and GOP congressional candidate Samuel Werzelbacher.RELATED: This morning Werzelbacher got testy when the CNN host asked him if he'd evolved since the below 2009 claim that gay people are inherent pedophiles. That's when Werzelbacher revealed his association with GOProud.

Joe The Plumber Gets Bitchy On Gay Rights: I Have An Agreement With GOProud To Work For All Americans
In 2009 Samuel Werzelbacher, aka Joe The Plumber, infamously declared that he wouldn't let gay people be around his children. Having just won his Ohio GOP primary for the U.S. House, this morning he appeared on CNN where he was asked if he's evolved on gay issues. That prompted Werzelbacher to accuse the host of "gotcha" journalism and compared CNN to the gossip site TMZ. To her credit host Zoraida Sambolin continued to press Werzelbacher on his stance on gay people. His answer: "I have spoke with Jimmy O'Salvia over at GOProud and he and I have an agreement that I'm gonna work towards all Americans, homoshexuals, straight - they want jobs. That's what it comes down to. I'm allowed to have my opinions as an American, but it seems like the left becomes very intolerant when you have an opinion other than what they state."

OHIO: Joe The Plumber Wins Primary
There's a slight chance that Joe The Plumber will become a member of Congress. SRSLY. An Ohio plumber thrust into national politics during the 2008 presidential campaign has won the Republican nomination in his home state as he makes a bid for Congress. Samuel Wurzelbacher gained the nickname "Joe the Plumber" for expressing working-class concerns about taxes to then-candidate Barack Obama during a stop to the region. The Toledo-area plumber defeated Steve Kraus, a Sandusky real estate agent, early Wednesday to grab the GOP nomination in Ohio's 9th Congressional District.Wurzelbacher will face 14-term Democrat Rep. Marcy Kaptur, who must battle into a newly-drawn district.

OHIO: Joe The Plumber Wins GOP Thing
Joe the Plumber has been elected as a GOP committee rep in Ohio.Samuel "Joe" Wurzelbacher, who was hailed by Republican John McCain's presidential campaign in 2008, won one of nearly 400 seats on the local Republican Party committee in Ohio's Lucas County. But don't call him Joe the Politician just yet. The group he'll serve on meets only a few times a year to elect the county chairman and sets the party agenda. Wurzelbacher won the seat by a 38-24 vote Tuesday in his suburban Toledo precinct. A message seeking comment was left with him Wednesday. He became an overnight sensation almost two years ago after questioning then-Sen. Barack Obama on the campaign trail about his economic policies and then when McCain repeatedly cited "Joe the Plumber" in a debate. He was held up by the GOP as an example of the middle-class worker who would be hurt economically by an Obama presidency. Wurzelbacher has since written a book, spoken at conservative gatherings and spent a few weeks as a war correspondent in the Gaza Strip.RELATED: Last year Wurzelbacher famously pledged that he would never allow his children near any damn dirty queers because "all gays are pedophiles."

PhoboQuotable - Joe The Plumber
"People don't understand the dictionary—it's called queer. Queer means strange and unusual. It's not like a slur, like you would call a white person a honky or something like that. You know, God is pretty explicit in what we're supposed to do—what man and woman are for. Now, at the same time, we're supposed to love everybody and accept people, and preach against the sins. I've had some friends that are actually homosexual. And, I mean, they know where I stand, and they know that I wouldn't have them anywhere near my children." - Joe The Plumber telling Christianity Today that he opposes same-sex marriage (and considers all gay people to be pedophiles.)Labels: "celibacy", assholism, Joe The Plumber, marriage equality, PhoboQuotable, religion

Joe The Plumber.....For Congress?
Too predictable. Joe The Plumber says he's thinking about running for Congress. Samuel Joe Wurzelbacher's campaign confrontation over tax with Democratic White House hopeful Barack Obama has been seized on by Republican John McCain, who has made the issue a centrepiece of his campaign during the final week of the race.Joe's presumed opponent Marcy Kaptur (D) is generally considered one of the least liberal Democrats in the House. However she has a 75% rating from the Human Rights Campaign for supporting ENDA, the Matthew Shepard Act, and gay adoption, and for opposing the Federal Marriage Amendment.
But now Joe the Plumber has bowed to growing pressure from grassroots Republicans in his home state of Ohio to consider launching his own campaign. Mr Wurzelbacher told conservative talk show host Laura Ingraham that he is thinking of challenging Democratic Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur in her Toledo area seat in 2010.
"I'll tell you what, we'd definitely be in one heck of a fight but, you know, I'd be up for it." Miss Ingraham then offered to help him with his PR strategy if he does eventually stand for public office. On Saturday, he confirmed his intentions in a further interview with Fox News but made clear that he has not yet had talks with Republican leaders in Ohio, who have previously said they would welcome him running.
