American Family Association: Townhall Must Fire Homocon Editor Guy Benson
"The political editor of a nominally conservative website, Townhall.com, revealed this week that he is a practicing homosexual. Townhall, by the way, is owned by Salem Media Group, which describes its mission as 'targeting audiences interested in Christian and family-themed content and conservative values.' To my knowledge, Salem has yet to explain how paying an openly homosexual activist to be the political editor of its main public policy publication is consistent with this mission. If Salem leadership is to be at all true to its own mission statement, Benson must be replaced. His values on homosexuality are not Christian, family-themed, or conservative. Some such individuals call themselves 'homocons.' Perhaps 'gayservatives' or 'gaytarians' or some other such concoction will suffice. Just don’t call them conservatives, for that most certainly is not what they are. - Bryan Fischer, writing for the American Family Association.
RELATED: In addition to Townhall, Salem owns Twitchy, Hot Air, RedState, Human Events, and over 100 Christian radio stations.
ALSO RELATED: Remember that time Bryan Fischer screamed about homofacists calling for the firing of former Mozilla CEO Brandon Eich because of his political opinions? Fischer doesn't.

Ben Shapiro Vs Dan Savage
In a Townhall piece published today, wingnut commentator Ben Shapiro goes after Dan Savage for his recent invitation for Ben Carson to "suck my dick" and prove that homosexuality is a choice.
That is an insipid argument; were the shoe on the other foot, Savage would have to demonstrate that being gay is involuntary by engaging in sexual behavior with every male he meets. Given his prior solicitation of Rick Santorum, Mike Huckabee, and Herman Cain, that may well be his desire, but it's a rotten argument overall. So far Carson has stuck to his pledge to shut up forever about gay issues. But it's only been a week.
But arguments no longer matter. Logic no longer matters. Feelings matter. We intuitively understand that behavior defines us rather than feeling; no one would label a vegetarian a person who deplores meat-eating but chows down on steak every night. But when it comes to sexual behavior, we look to get ourselves off the hook: All sexual behavior is involuntary, so how can we be expected to make decisions about it? Hence the left's absurd lie during the Clinton era that everyone lies about sex; hence the asinine notion that chastity until marriage is an impossibility; hence the morally blind belief that societal pressure for sexual morality is discriminatory in the same sense that racism is discriminatory.
The result: No honest discussion can be had about the extent of human choice, the limits of human choice, and our own preferences among the choices human beings make. We are mere animals, forced by our firing neurons to act on each and every impulse. We have no choice. And those who say we do ought to perform oral sex on us.

Townhall Writer Attacks Houston's "Old Bull-Dyke" Mayor Because Jesus
"If I were gay I wouldn’t give a flip if pastors spoke against my particular penchant -- like Houston’s old lesbian mayor has been doing – because I cherish this thing called 'liberty'. Yep, as a hypothetical gay dude I would still embrace freedom of speech and not get my neckerchief in a wad because some Southern Baptist doesn’t like my checking Jethro’s oil. Indeed, as an imaginary gay man I’d still embrace the First Amendment and would fight my gay backside off for others' right to say and do whatever, just as long as I didn’t have to pay for it and I could ridicule the crap out of it. Which brings me to this point: I don’t like fascists, straight or gay. Which means I don’t like Houston’s old lesbian mayor. I think she’s un-American. I think she’s a bull-dyke who wants to foist her weltanschauung on Texans. All of us should cherish and protect such liberty because it's this freedom that sets us apart from such clowns as ISIS. Speaking of Islam, if Houston’s old lesbian mayor wants to get pissy, she should focus her radical-feminist-lesbian rage at Islam because, unlike the Christians who graciously would like to convert her, Islam, on the other hand, would like to kill her." - Doug Giles, writing for Townhall.

Houston Headlines In Teabagistan
ABOVE: World Net Daily, Townhall, Canada Free Press, and PJ Media. The madness has already spawned a Snopes entry. And of course, Brian Brown never misses an opportunity:
Let me express both my gratitude and my admiration for the courageous religious leaders who were not only brave enough to preach hard moral truths in a society that is not welcoming of the discomfort they may bring, but also willing to stand up as champions in the face of Caesar's persecution. Mayor Parker’s inquisition intentionally tramples the First Amendment, violating the most fundamental essence of the separation of church and state that the left claims to champion. But even more alarming is the fact that this action is simply the latest in a series of actions by which the government (controlled by leftist ideologues) is lashing out at those who dare to disagree with their radical agenda. We saw this most egregiously with the IRS scandal, at which NOM was at the center. Please take a moment to take action and send the mayor of Houston an email telling her to cease and desist on this unconstitutional assault on our precious religious freedoms. And, if you have a moment, please call her office (713-837-0311) and let her know that Americans like you and I will not stand for this kind of abuse against our religious leaders. Believe me, if they get away with this in Houston, they'll believe they can get away with it anywhere.Brown's press release links to his email-harvesting petition site which, of course, will lead to a money beg.

Todd Starnes On Brendan Eich
"Why not demand that those who oppose gay marriage relinquish the right to own property? Why not take away their right to vote? Why not take away their children? Why not just throw them in jail? Why not force them to work in chain gangs? Why not call for public floggings? Or better yet, let’s just strap them down on gurneys, stick a needle in their arm and rid the world of these intolerant anti-gay bigots once and for all. The road to political correctness is littered with the bodies of folks like Brendan Eich sideswiped by the tolerance and diversity bus." - Fox News reporter Todd Starnes, writing for Townhall.

Ben Shapiro Has The Grammy Sadz
"This wasn't an argument for same-sex marriage. It wasn't even attractive image-making on behalf of same-sex marriage. It was hatred of Biblical values cloaked in pietistic nonsense. The same folks standing up for same-sex marriage at the Grammys largely scorn the institution of marriage itself. The only time they embrace marriage is when it is being mocked, undermined or perverted. That's not a cuddly case for same-sex marriage. But this is Hollywood unmasked: angry, vindictive, self-righteous, anti-Biblical. The case for same-sex marriage rests on an application of Biblical principle -- monogamy and commitment -- to actions condemned by Biblical text. For years, Hollywood was able to get away with perverting the Bible by ignoring it. But in its rush to congratulate itself for overthrowing Biblical values without a shot, Hollywood spiked the football and revealed its true agenda. And that agenda is not the agenda of tolerance for individuals, but an ugly agenda of unearned moral superiority via destruction of traditional values." - Breitbart editor Ben Shapiro, writing today for Townhall.

Coulter: I Recommend Capital Punishment For Pro-Gay Television Pundits
"We know A&E is not the government. It may shock your tiny little pea brains, but free speech existed even before we had a Constitution. Free speech is generally considered a desirable goal even apart from its inclusion in the nation's founding document. Suppose TV networks were capitulating to angry Muslims by suspending people for saying they opposed Sharia law? Would that prompt any of you pusillanimous hacks to finally take a position on the state of free speech in America? Or would you demand that we stop the presses so you could roll out your little cliche about a television network not being the government? A&E didn't dare cross the gays, never anticipating that the Robertson family wouldn't back down -- and the rest of the country wouldn't, either. Even non-Christians can have only contempt for the network's utter cravenness in suspending Robertson for stating basic Christian doctrine. The first time someone stands up to a bully and the sky doesn't fall, the tyranny is over. The gay mafia was out of control, drunk with power. This time, they got their wings clipped. Christians, 1; Angry gays: minus 1,000. Cliche-spouting hack TV pundits: I recommend capital punishment." - Ann Coulter, writing for Townhall.

Liberals Are Twerking America
"The tiresome antics of former Disney princess Miley Cyrus exemplifies a larger phenomenon. Liberalism, in our culture and in our politics, is figuratively twerking all normal Americans. And it is up to us to fight back. A trillion dollars borrowed from our grandkids for a hideous 'stimulus' that went straight into the pockets of liberal constituencies! You’ve been twerked! A tax increase on people who actually produce something so even more money can be transferred to Democrat voters who don’t? You’ve been twerked! Rights of free speech, religious conscience, to keep and bear arms, to be secure from unreasonable searches? America, you have been twerked! The proper response to a literal twerker is, 'Get that thing out of my face.' The proper response from normal Americans to the liberalism’s figurative twerkers is a good, swift kick." - Kurt Schlicter, writing for Townhall.

Wingnuts Issue Pop Music Blacklist
The wingnuts over at Townhall have issued a "blacklist" of artists that God-fearing patriots should refuse to support.
When it comes to musicians who attack conservatives, Christians, Republicans, America -- or alternately, embrace the Left, don't give them your money. Don't buy their albums or their T-shirts and don’t go to their shows. Even if you do like their music, don't pay for it and don't talk it up publicly. Fans are oxygen for these people -- starve them of it and let other musicians start to worry about the reaction if they go after us.On the list: Madonna, Moby, Bette Midler, Dixie Chicks, Bruce Springsteen, Psy, Sheryl Crow, Rage Against The Machine, Barbra Streisand, and Kanye West.
That's not unfair; it's just restoring balance. People who rely on the goodwill of the general public shouldn't be trashing the people who pay their bills. Artists should be flattered, not outraged when Republican politicians want to use their songs. Conservatives in the music industry shouldn't be cowed into silence by threats and abuse while liberal musicians smear the conservatives, Christians, Republicans and patriots who buy their records with no repercussions.

Ben Shapiro: Not Enough LGBT People Are Killed To Bother Complaining About
"Approximately 1,300 hate crimes based on 'sexual orientation bias' were reported by the FBI in 2011. There are approximately 9 million gays, lesbians and bisexuals in the United States, according to a UCLA study. That would mean that about one of every 7,100 LGBT people in the United States became a hate crime victim in 2011. That same year, there were some 935 Jewish victims of hate crimes according to the FBI. There are approximately 5.5 million Jews in the United States. That means that one out of every 5,900 Jews became a hate crime victim in 2011. Yet no one suggests that America remains a massively anti-Semitic country, requiring massive media coverage every time a Jewish person reaches a position of power or influence.
"Jason Collins has every right to announce his sexual orientation. If announcing it makes him a happier person, more power to him. But the media's overwrought coverage of Collins demonstrates their deeply dangerous view that America is a disgusting place filled with budding Aaron McKinneys and Russell Hendersons looking for their Matthew Shepards to murder. The media's treatment of Collins as a full-fledged hero assumes that America is filled with full-fledged villains. It is not -- and the media coverage of Collins shows that. The media coverage also does young gays and lesbians a massive disservice. There is no surer way to keep young gays and lesbians living in fear than tacitly telling them that those who surround them despise them." - Breitbart editor Ben Shapiro, in a column published on Townhall.

Right Wing Writer: We Lost On Marriage
"As a lawyer, I sometimes have to deliver news that clients don’t want to hear. Here’s some for conservatives. The gay marriage fight is over. It is here to stay, and conservatives – whether for it, against it or just tired of hearing about it – need to coolly and dispassionately figure out just how we are going to win going forward. This is not a judgment about its pros and cons. We’re past that. None of it matters anymore. This is about dealing with reality. Whether the fight ends with a Constitution-twisting Supreme Court ruling or after years or decades as the states adopt it one by one, it’s a done deal. And even if you aren’t yet ready to accept that it’s lost you still need to prepare for that contingency. The question is, 'What do we conservatives do next?' - Conservative columnist Kurt Schlichter, writing for the right wing Townhall, where a couple of thousand commenters are furious. The piece is worth reading if just for the rabid responses.

Quote Of The Day - Star Parker
"In the 1850’s, Stephen Douglas proposed solving the dilemma of whether slavery should be permitted in new states by suggesting that they should just vote. What could be more American than submitting the question of slavery to the democratic process of each state? To this Abraham Lincoln observed: 'God did not place good and evil before man telling him to make his choice. On the contrary, He did tell him there was one tree, of the fruit of which he should not eat, upon pain of certain death….I should scarcely wish so strong a prohibition against slavery in Nebraska.' Lincoln’s rejoinder to the idea of 'popular sovereignty' – that states should vote to determine if slavery would be legal – was that there are core truths – truths that define right and wrong, good and evil - that precede the democratic process. To reject this premise is to buy into moral chaos. Which is what we are approaching today." - Anti-gay wingnut Star Parker, saying that allowing people to vote on gay marriage is like allowing them to vote on slavery. Funny how they say that NOW, innit? (Via Townhall)

Townhall's Mike Adams: Eight Christian Suicides Over LGBT Bullying
The virulently anti-gay Townhall published a column yesterday by University of North Carolina-Wilmington professor Mike Adams in which he claims to tick off eight examples of Christians who have killed themselves due to bullying by LGBT activists. All of the cited examples involve well-known cases in which Christianists have faced repercussions for anti-gay speech. An example: Julia was a student at a university in Michigan. She was asked to help a homosexual client by using “gay affirmation” therapy. But she refused to do so because of her beliefs about homosexuality. (Note: It is OK to refuse to provide gay correction therapy even if that is what the client desires. But one must not refuse to provide gay affirmation therapy). Julia was expelled from Eastern Michigan because of her views. So she ended it all.Obviously none of these situations actually resulted in a suicide. Hall explains his ruse in his final paragraph.
These eight cases are all true except for one thing: The Christians who were bullied by gays and gay activists are all still alive. Not a single one has committed suicide. That is because they have centered their lives around Jesus Christ, rather than their sexual identity. And no amount of bullying can change my mind about that.Isn't he clever? Isn't he hilarious?

Cal Thomas: We Must Purge The Evil Muslims From America
"We are doing a poor job of fighting the terrorists at home if we continue to allow Muslim immigrants, especially from Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen, into America. We won't win this war if we permit the uncontrolled construction of mosques, as well as Islamic schools, some of which already have sown the seeds from which future terrorists will be cultivated. We won't win this war if we continue to permit the large-scale conversion to Islam of prison inmates, many of whom become radicalized and upon release enlist in al-Qaida's army. We must purge the evil from among us, or else. " - Wingnut columnist Cal Thomas, writing for Townhall. Pat Buchanan: Gay Marriage Is Like Incest, Polygamy And Prostitution
"Federal Judge Vaughn Walker is truly a visionary. Peering at the 14th Amendment, Walker found something there the authors of the amendment never knew they put there, and even the Warren Court never found there: The states of the Union must recognize same-sex marriages as equal to traditional marriage. With his discovery, Walker declared Proposition 8, by which 5.5 million Californians voted to prohibit state recognition of gay marriage, null and void. What the people of California voted for is irrelevant, said Walker; you cannot vote to take away constitutional rights. This is not just judicial activism. This is judicial tyranny."Walker says the only motivations behind Proposition 8 had been "biases" and "moral disapproval," and "moral disapproval ... has never been a rational basis for legislation." But what else is the basis for laws against polygamy and incest? What else was the basis for the Mann Act, which prevented a man from taking his girlfriend across the state line to a motel? What is the basis for prohibiting prostitution, a free exchange of money for sexual favors, if not "moral disapproval"? What the judge is saying with this opinion is that the majority cannot define morality, and, even if it does, it cannot impose it. We are defenseless against what we believe to be moral decadence." - Pat Buchanan, writing for Townhall.

PhoboQuotable - Dennis Prager
"Most Americans are aware that gay activism rarely presents itself as a movement solely for the rights of gays. For example, the acronym for the gay rights movement is "GLBT," meaning Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender. Interestingly, few people ever ask about the "T." What do transgendered have to do with gays? How and why are they connected by activists, gay and straight, on the Left? Strictly speaking, gays have no more in common with transgendered people than straights do. To understand the answer is to understand much of what animates the Sexual Left. [snip]"Because the Left seeks to obliterate the distinction between men and women. This distinction is considered to be a social construct. That is why, to this day, despite all the scientific evidence (as if that were needed) proving how different male and female brains are, many Leftwing academics still argue that boys play with trucks rather than with dolls because of sexist socialization; and girls play with dolls because of socialization. And that is why, on the Left, changing the definition of marriage is only worth a shrug. Since there are no inherent differences between men and women, what difference could it possibly make whether a man marries a man or a woman, or whether a woman marries a man or a woman? Or if children have two fathers, two mothers, or a father and mother?" - Radio host Dennis Prager, writing for Townhall.
Prager writes that he believes homosexuality is largely biological and the gays "should not be ridiculed, let alone persecuted, for their sexual orientation." But he draws the line at civil rights for trans people. His radio show is syndicated to over one hundred stations.

PhoboQuotable - Mike Adams
"Some years ago, a man asked for my opinion on why his good friend, an atheist, had decided to go to Yale Divinity School. I told him that the Enemy could do more harm trying to destroy an institution from within than from without. And so it is with the so-called GLBT (Gilbert) movement. The Gilbert has equal rights. He is not fighting for anything. He is only seeking to destroy anyone or anything that will not validate him. That is why only 4% of gays who live in states giving them a 'right' to get married actually do get married. They do not seek to enjoy marriage. They seek to destroy marriage. All because it denies them validation."Originally, all Unitarians and Universalists were Christians who didn't believe in the Holy Trinity of God but, instead, in the unity of God. Later, they stressed the importance of 'rational thinking' and the 'humanity' of Jesus. Since the merger of the two denominations in 1961, Unitarian Universalism has emphasized 'social justice.' Hence the interest in the Gilbert movement. We live in a time when Gilberts are invading Christian denominations in an effort to destroy their core Christian beliefs. I intend to enroll in Meadville-Lombard Theological School in order to reverse this trend and bring the Unitarians and Universalists back to Christianity. I want to set them straight, so to speak. I want to save them before their symbol, the flaming chalice, is replaced by a flaming phallus." - Townhall.com columnist Mike Adams, announcing that he will become a minister in order to stem the nation's critical of shortage of hate-filled homophobic clergy.
