FLORIDA: Woman Arrested For Putting Son In Drag As Public Punishment
From Orlando's CBS affiliate:
Christle Marie Prado was arrested Thursday on charges of cruelty toward a child and infliction of physical or mental injury. According to Winter Garden police, officers were contacted on November 24 about a possible child abuse incident. Photos were given to authorities that show the 10-year-old boy dressed as a girl, including wearing makeup, while crying. Prado told police that Keith Driscoll, her landlord and roommate, came up with the idea for punishment after she told him that her son often wet his pants and soils himself. Police said the boy has a documented medical condition. A neighbor told Local 6 that Driscoll also made the boy run around outside while others pointed and laughed at the boy because he was dressed as a girl. Neighbors also said the abuse of the boy and his two siblings has been going on for a long time.

Sean Hannity: Liberals Want To Make It Illegal To Tell Kids Being Gay Isn't Normal
"You guys want to tell parents what they can and cannot do. For example, is it gonna become illegal if a parent teaches kids the politically incorrect view that being gay is not normal? Or that the parent says — whatever the parent wants to teach the kid that you would disagree with? I think we’ve gotten to the point where, if we don’t politically correct our kids, we might as well hand our kids over to the government the day that they’re born and let them raise them." - Fox New host Sean Hannity, saying that arresting NFL star Adrian Peterson for brutally whipping his four year-old son is a slippery slope to banning parents from telling children they shouldn't be gay.

Bill Donohue: Accused Catholic Priests Aren't Pedophiles, They Are Homosexuals
"An editorial in today’s New York Times cites the Vatican’s disciplinary action against its former ambassador to the Dominican Republic, the now-defrocked Archbishop Jozef Wesolowski. It invokes Pope Francis’ promise that in the pedophilia scandal ‘there are no privileges.' The Times erred again by repeating the myth of a pedophilia scandal: 100 percent of the victimizers were male; 81 percent of the victims were male; and 78 percent were postpubescent. That would make it a homosexual scandal. Indeed, less than 5 percent of these cases involve pedophilia. The boys the archbishop abused were teenagers, meaning that homosexuality, not pedophilia, was in play. The distinction is important." - Catholic League blowhard Bill Donohue, responding to this editorial.

LOS ANGELES: Couple Tried For Killing "Gay Acting" Eight Year-Old Son
In a case that mirrors a similarly tragic outcome earlier this year in Oregon, a Los Angeles couple is being tried for viciously abusing and murdering the mother's eight year-old son after taunting him for playing with dolls. You may not want to read any further.
Before 8-year-old Gabriel Fernandez was allegedly beaten to death by his mother and her boyfriend, they doused him with pepper spray, forced him to eat his own vomit and locked him in a cabinet with a sock stuffed in his mouth to muffle his screams, according to court records made public Monday. Sworn grand jury testimony provided a graphic examination of the abuse that the Antelope Valley boy allegedly suffered before his death in May of 2013. The incident prompted calls for sweeping reforms to the troubled Los Angeles County foster-care system because child welfare workers failed to remove the boy. Officials have taken steps to fire two social workers and two supervisors, while others involved in the case received letters of warning or reprimand. Fernandez and Aguirre deliberately tortured the boy to death, hiding their tracks with forged doctor's notes and lies to authorities, Deputy Dist. Atty. Jonathan Hatami told the grand jury. "For eight straight months, he was abused, beaten and tortured more severely than many prisoners of war," Hatami said. The abuse worsened in the months leading up to Gabriel's death, according to testimony from two of his siblings, both of whom are minors. They said Gabriel was forced to eat cat feces, rotten spinach and his own vomit. He slept in a locked cabinet and wasn't let out to go to the bathroom. Fernandez and Aguirre called Gabriel gay, punished him when he played with dolls and forced him to wear girls' clothes to school, the siblings said.Gabriel had written a suicide note, but child welfare authorities reportedly "dismissed" that information because the note contained "no specific plan" for him to kill himself. MICHIGAN: Christian Radio Host John Balyo Confesses To Rape Of Second Child
Cornerstone University radio host John Balyo was arrested last month after federal investigators connected him to the rape of an 11 year-old boy. Today Balyo confessed to a second rape. Via the Detroit Free Press:
Former WCSG radio host John Richard Balyo admitted today that he and a second man handcuffed a 12-year-old boy to a motel bed, sexually abused him and took nine photos during the April encounter. "I did take images of a child and they were sexually explicit involving bondage and nudity,'' Balyo admitted today in U.S. District Court in Grand Rapids. "I performed sex acts as described. I knew it was wrong.'' Balyo and Ronald Lee Moser paid the boy for his involvement in the April 19th assault. His hands and feet were handcuffed and he was tied to the bed, according to courtroom statements today. While bound, Balyo took nine photos of the boy, first in his underwear and then naked. The boy's family wept in the back of the sixth floor courtroom as details of the assault were told to Magistrate Ellen Carmody during today's plea hearing. In exchange for today's confession and guilty plea, prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney's Office will not file additional charges that may arise from the continuing investigation. Balyo faces life in prison on the first case and up to 50 years for the second. Cornerstone University requires its students to sign a "lifestyle pledge" that they will not engage in "every form of immorality, including immoral sexual behavior, homosexuality, lying, stealing and cheating." Janet Porter: The National GOP Should Copy Texas On "Ex-Gay" Platform Plank
Via Brian Tashman at Right Wing Watch:
Janet Porter of Faith 2 Action is so happy about the Republican Party of Texas’s decision to embrace ex-gay therapy as part of its new far-right platform that she wants similar language endorsing the pseudo-science "adopted nationwide." She might find allies in Tony Perkins and David Barton, members of the 2012 Republican National Committee platform committee who are both vocal supporters of ex-gay therapy. In 2012, Perkins claimed that his Family Research Council joined forces with Eagle Forum to shape the national GOP platform. Eagle Forum is the same group that successfully added the ex-gay language to the Texas GOP platform.

Lou Reed Posthumously Forgives Mother For His "Ex-Gay" Electroshock Torture
In an interview published in the 1996 book Please Kill Me: An Oral History Of Punk, the late Lou Reed described the electro-convulsive therapy his parents ordered because they wanted to cure him of his bisexuality.
"They put the thing down your throat so you don't swallow your tongue, and they put electrodes on your head. That's what was recommended in Rockland State Hospital to discourage homosexual feelings. The effect is that you lose your memory and become a vegetable. You can't read a book because you get to page 17 and have to go right back to page one again."Reed famously railed against the abuses of his parents in his 1974 song, Kill Your Sons.
Reed's will was filed in a Manhattan court on Monday. While he left 75% of his fortune to his wife Laurie Anderson in a bequest that includes homes, boats, and publishing royalties, Reed also left a quarter of his estate to his sister in the hopes that she'll care for their 93 year-old mother. From the will: "It is my hope and desire, without imposing any legal obligation, that my said sister will use a portion of this cash bequest to help care for our mother, Toby Reed, for the balance of her life."

POLAND: Archbishop Blames Divorced Parents For Pedophile Priests
"Many of these cases of (sexual) molestation could be avoided given a healthy relationship between parents. We often hear that this inappropriate attitude (pedophilia), or abuse, manifests itself when a child is looking for love. It (the child) clings, it searches. It gets lost itself and then draws another person into this. How many wounds are their in children's hearts, in children's lives, when their parents go their separate ways?" - Archbishop Jozef Michalik, speaking to the press about the snowballing Polish scandal involving pedophile priests. Scott Lively: I'm Running For MA Governor
"After long contemplation and prayer I am convinced that I should run for Governor of Massachusetts. I will run as an independent. The people of this state need a candidate who can clearly and unapologetically articulate Biblical values without fear or compromise. They need a candidate who will tell the simple truth that abortion is murder, and homosexuality is condemned by God (but that Jesus forgives and heals those who repent). That parents and not the state have authority over their children, because government is our servant and not our master. That socialism is slavery and humanism breeds corruption. But mostly they need a leader who will remind the people that Massachusetts was founded upon Jesus Christ and the Bible and that our future security and prosperity depend on restoring our trust in Him." - Scott Lively, in a statement published on his personal website.

Priest Arrested For Rape Of Altar Boy
Another day, another Catholic priest arrested. From the Philadelphia Inquirer:
District Attorney Seth Williams announced the arrest of Rev. Robert L. Brennan, 75, for allegedly raping an altar boy between 1998 and 2001, while he was assistant pastor at Resurrection of Our Lord parish in Rhawnhurst. The charges came about after a 26-year-old man reportedly encouraged by last year's trial of Msgr. William J. Lynn - the first Catholic church official convicted for a supervisory role in covering up the conduct of pedophile priests - contacted archdiocesan officials in January.During last year's trial of other Catholic officials in Philadelphia, Brennan was accused of molesting 15-20 boys, but no charges were brought. Unshockingly, Brennan had been transferred from parish to parish during the time of those alleged crimes. (Tipped by JMG reader David)
That same day, Williams said, church officials called his office and relayed the man's allegation: Brennan sexually abused him from ages 11 to 14, within the statute of limitations. Williams said Brennan was arrested late Wednesday at the private home in Perryville, Md., where he has lived for much of the last eight years. Brennan was being held Thursday in Cecil County, Md., awaiting extradition to Philadelphia. When he returns, he will be charged with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, and aggravated indecent assault, Williams said.

Ex-Pope: I Never Shielded Pervy Priests
In his first public comments since resigning, today former Pope Palpatine denied the long-running accusations that he shielded pedophile priests from exposure and prosecution.
The comments - which a victims' group rejected - were made in an 11-page letter to Italian author and mathematician Piergiorgio Odifreddi, who had written a book about the problems facing the Roman Catholic Church before the pope resigned in February. "As far as you mentioning the moral abuse of minors by priests, I can only, as you know, acknowledge it with profound consternation. But I never tried to cover up these things," said Benedict, who now has the title Emeritus Pope. Excerpts of the letter were published in the Rome newspaper La Repubblica on Tuesday with the former pope's permission. It was believed to be the first time Benedict has responded to the sexual abuse accusations in the first person, although the Vatican has always said he did much to put an end to sexual abuse of minors by priests and never tried to cover it up.The victims group SNAP responded: "As head of CDF [Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith], thousands of cases of predator priests crossed his desk. Did he choose to warn families or call police about even one of those dangerous clerics? No. That, by definition, is a cover up." (Tipped by JMG reader Eric)

REPORT: Archdiocese Of Minneapolis Covered Up For Pedophile Priest
According to a report published today by Minnesota Public Radio, the Archdiocese of Minneapolis covered up for a local priest recently sentenced to prison for child molesting. We all know Minneapolis Archbishop John Nienstadt, of course, for his opposition to same-sex marriage, for declaring that Satan loves sodomy, and for advising a parishioner that she will go to hell if she accepts her gay son.
Haselberger opened Wehmeyer's file and realized there was no background check on the priest, even though the diocese had a policy that required background checks for all clergy. Haselberger kept looking, and saw documents that reported Wehmeyer had a sexual addiction and the archdiocese knew about it. She knew that Nienstedt was considering whether to promote Wehmeyer, so she sent him a memo alerting him to review the file. She also attached a copy of the earlier psychological and sexual assessment of Wehmeyer. The priest's personnel file included evidence that Wehmeyer had violated the archdiocese's code of conduct several times. Haselberger assumed that would end Wehmeyer's career as a priest. It did not. While she waited for a response, the archdiocese continued to receive reports on Wehmeyer — three in 2009. In one case, a priest called to say that Wehmeyer had approached him for sex. Someone else reported seeing Wehmeyer acting suspiciously with boys at a campground. Those were the same boys Wehmeyer was later accused of abusing, Haselberger said. It's quite the story, you should read the full report. (Tipped by JMG reader Rick)

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: Vatican Recalls Official Envoy Over Molestation Rumors
The Vatican has abruptly recalled Archbishop Josef Wesolowski, its official envoy to the Dominican Republic, in the midst of child molestation rumors about Wesolowski and another priest. The Associated Press reports:
Wesolowski's sudden departure from the Dominican Republic in recent days has been the cause of feverish speculation in local media. Dominican television network NCDN, citing a statement from the director of a community group, reported that Wesolowski had slept in the same room as several altar boys at his beach house. Shortly before his removal, several residents of the mountain town of Juncalito made allegations of sexual abuse against the Rev. Alberto Gil Wojciech, also a Polish priest and a friend of Wesolowski. The community leader, Pedro Espinal, told reporters that Wojciech took altar boys to the home of Wesolowski.RELATED: In July, the Dominican Republic's Cardinal Nicolás de Jesús López Rodríguez called openly gay US ambassador nominee Wally Brewster a "faggot" during a press conference. A week later local Catholics staged a protest against Brewster by dressing in black and putting black ribbons on their cars.
