Trump Disinvited From RedState Event

Trump was to be tonight's headliner and most of the other GOP candidates will be speaking there this weekend. While we enjoy the escalating teabagger implosion, let's not forget that Erick Erickson, the person now leading the charge against Donald Trump, regularly calls you a NAMBLA-supporting member of the gaystapo and a hell-bound mentally ill homofascist. Erickson has also called the First Lady a "Marxist harpy wife" and called a member of the Supreme Court a "goat-fucking child molester." And then there are the times that newly-minted feminist Erick Erickson refers to "ugly feminazis" who should "get in the kitchen and learn to cook." Oh, but he totally has the right to the moral high ground regarding Donald Trump.

Stop Silencing Ryan Anderson!

Two days ago Heritage Foundation spokesman Ryan Anderson declared victory over the review "trolls" at Amazon when his new anti-gay book hit #1 in a niche category nobody had ever heard of. But that victory was apparently empty boasting as today the Heritage Foundation itself published a furious reaction to those negative reviews in an article which includes screencaps of comments made here on JMG. The Heritage Foundation and Anderson are particularly furious about one Amazon review which includes a photo from a concentration camp.
We might take Anderson's complaint about the Holocaust photo seriously if he had ever once spoken up about the many, many, many times his conservative colleagues used Nazi imagery and phrases to characterize the LGBT civil rights movement. Visit Breitbart, World Net Daily, BarbWire or virtually any other far right-wing site and you'll find stories illustrated with the rainbow flag overlaid with a swastika, typically with a headline that includes the words "Gaystapo" and "homofascist."  Until Ryan Anderson calls out those websites and writers by name, we'll find it very hard to summon any sympathy for his outrage over anonymous Amazon reviews.

MICHIGAN: Mother Says Outed "Grindr Pastor" Told Her Gay Son To Kill Himself UPDATE: The Son Speaks Out Himself

Via the CBS affiliate in Flint, Michigan:
A mother came forward with new accusations against the local pastor who resigned after being outed as gay. She said what that pastor told her son nearly drove him to suicide. Jennifer Kish is angered over the recent revelation that Matthew Makela might be gay, not because of his alleged sexual preference, but because of how he treated her son while they were parishioners at his church. Makela is a Midland pastor who resigned after being outed by a website. The website said it outed Makela because of his outspoken stance in recent years against homosexuality, a stance one woman said was particularly harmful to her family. Kish said her then 17-year-old son Tyler suffered from serious depression and was considering suicide because he was told by Makela he was going to hell because he was gay. "If he's going to hell for being gay then he might as well commit suicide," Kish said. Makela is the subject of scrutiny because of the alleged hypocrisy. The website Queerty posted a conversation it claims shows Makela soliciting sex with another man on the app Grindr, an app geared toward gay and bisexual men.

UPDATE: Some readers have noted that the mother in the above story may be putting words into the mouth of the so-called Grindr Pastor, who may have "only" told her son that being gay was as bad a sin as committing suicide. In the clip below, the teenager tells the story himself.

Married Anti-Gay Missouri GOP House Speaker Busted For Sexting With College Freshman: "I'll Leave You Quivering"

Earlier this year the Missouri affiliate of the Family Research Council celebrated GOP House Speaker John Diehl after he filed an anti-gay marriage amicus brief with the Eighth Circuit Court. Today the FRC is very, very quiet after the opposite-married Diehl was busted for sexting with a barely legal college intern. Via the Kansas City Star:
The conversations unveil a flirty rapport and suggest an intimacy between arguably the state’s most influential lawmaker and a young woman taking some pleasure in a secret association. The texts show occasional efforts by Diehl and the intern to meet in person. They range from mundane chatter, about boring meetings and dreading speeches, to the more sexually suggestive. Diehl declined to comment. The intern, who has hired an attorney specializing in employment matters, told The Star that the text messages were not real. Meantime, she has told confidants that she had an ongoing relationship with Diehl. Multiple sources helped The Star confirm that the screenshots of the texts, which show Diehl’s business cellphone number, originated from the intern’s smartphone. The text conversations also included photographs of each of them. And others who know Diehl well said they recognized the language and tone of the conversations from their own text exchanges with him.
The unnamed freshman attends Missouri Southern State University, which has abruptly canceled its internship program with the state government. Diehl and his wife of 23 years have three children and his eldest son attends West Point. Diehl last appeared on JMG when he sponsored a bill to ban gay-straight alliance clubs in public schools. AFA: Boycotts Are Economic Terrorism

As we all know, the American Family Association is the most boycott-crazy of all anti-gay groups, having launched or supported boycotts against Ford, Macy's, Home Depot, Disney, Honey Maid, General Mills, Starbucks, and many others. Just last week they launched their boycott of Angie's List and of course their One Million Moms arm has boycotted or threatened to boycott dozens of companies in just the last couple of years. But listen to AFA radio crackpot Sandy Rios agree with a listener who calls boycotts "economic terrorism."

Roy Moore's Son Busted On Drug Charges

Caleb Moore, the apparently still-partying son of Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore, has been arrested yet again on drug possession charges.
According to court documents, officers responded to the 1200 block of Allen Street in Troy to a report of an attempted home break-in. They found five men, including Moore, outside near a pickup truck that smelled strongly of marijuana. After the men said there were no drugs in the vehicle, officers searched the truck and found a bag of marijuana in the glove compartment, along with Moore's passport. Several Xanax pills also were found in the bag. Moore was arrested and taken to the city jail. He was released on bond totaling $8,500. His first court appearance is set for April 7 before Pike County District Judge William Hightower.
Several weeks ago I reported on Caleb Moore's social media posts, prompting him to say this to AL.com: "I've done nothing more than any other college kids. Because of who I am, it gets blown out of proportion. Since then I've got in a closer walk with the Lord. Whatever anyone says about me, it doesn't bother me. The people who know me and know what's true can really see what's going on here and see through critics of my dad."

This is Caleb Moore's third arrest on drug charges. As I noted in my first post about him, tax records appear to indicate that in 2012 he worked part-time for the virulently anti-gay Foundation For Moral Law, which was founded by his father and is now headed by his mother, Kayla Moore.

UPDATE: More from the Montgomery Advertiser:
Caleb Moore has been charged with possession of marijuana in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor, and possession of a controlled substance, a Class C felony. Bond was set at $1,000 on the marijuana charge and $7,500 on the controlled substance charge. Scott Hoyem, a spokesman for the Alabama Administrative Office of the Courts, confirmed the arrest Monday but said Chief Justice Moore would not comment on it, calling it a personal matter.
Per Alabama law, conviction on a Class C felony calls for this prison sentence: "No less than one year and one day and no more than 10 years."

Today In NOM Hypocrisy

"A New Jersey school teacher needs your help right away. Patricia Januzzi, a teacher at the Catholic Immaculata High School in New Jersey, is under fire and in danger of losing her job because she posted her opinions (which are not, in fact, contrary to the professed beliefs of the Catholic Church) about marriage and family on her Facebook page. In other words, activists are trying to pressure a Catholic School to fire a teacher for simply being a good Catholic! Contradicting same-sex 'marriage' orthodoxy means retaliation, we've seen it time and again. Apparently, these radical activists believe so much in their moral superiority that they believe they can dictate what a religion 2,000 years old and followed by over a billion people worldwide can and cannot say in public.  Joe, this is the true end-game of same-sex 'marriage' activists! They want to silence people like you and me and prevent us from being able to voice any opposition whatsoever to their radical agenda!" - Hate group leader Brian Brown, who very curiously said nothing two months ago when the Miami Archdiocese announced that they will fire any employee who uses social media to express support for LGBT rights.

Donny Osmond Slams NPH: "No Class"

Osmond's Wikipedia page notes that he performed in a loincloth for over 2000 performances of Joseph And The Technicolor Dreamcoat. But that was classy!

RELATED: In 2008 Osmond wrote about same-sex marriage in a now-deleted response (check the URL) to a fan on his personal website. An excerpt:
"There are many gay individuals that are members of our church. I know many of them. In fact, some of my best friends are gay. You ask how I react regarding their marriages. Well, I do support our Church leaders who say that we can accept those with gay tendencies in our church as long as they do not act upon their temptations. Everyone has tenancies to succumb to temptation, but we all have the same standard given to us by our Father in Heaven. Whether we may be tempted to be immoral with members of our own sex or of the opposite sex, we are expected to live chaste lives. This is very well explained not only in the Book of Mormon, but in the Bible as well."
Osmond also included this quote from a Mormon document:
We warn that individuals who violate covenants of chastity, who abuse spouse or offspring, or who fail to fulfill family responsibilities will one day stand accountable before God. Further, we warn that the disintegration of the family will bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets. We call upon responsible citizens and officers of government everywhere to promote those measures designed to maintain and strengthen the family as the fundamental unit of society.

American Family Association Publishes "Bigotry Map" Of LGBT, Atheist, Humanist, And Civil Rights Groups

We can only presume that this is the secret weapon teased by the American Family Association late last year. Via press release:
The American Family Association has identified over 200 groups and organizations that openly display bigotry toward the Christian faith. The website includes an interactive map that identifies groups whose actions are deeply intolerant of the Christian religion. Their actions have endorsed efforts to silence Christians and to remove all public displays of Christian heritage and faith in America.

A common practice of these groups is threatening our nation’s schools, cities and states. By threat of lawsuit, they demand that prayer be removed from schools and city council meetings, Ten Commandments monuments stricken from courthouses and memorial crosses purged from cemeteries and parks.

Because of anti-Christian bigotry, private business owners have been sued and forced to close their businesses. Families and businesses that express a Christian worldview on social issues often face vicious retaliation from anti-Christian zealots. Some members or supporters of these groups have committed violent crimes against Christians and faith-based groups. Physical and profane verbal assaults against Christians are methods frequently exercised in their angry methods of intimidation.
The "Homosexual Agenda" groups identified on the map are the Human Rights Campaign, GLAAD, and dozens of local chapters of the Gay & Lesbian Student Education Network (GLSEN), who get this description: "GLSEN infiltrates public schools with pro-homosexual indoctrination tactics, confusing many young people and misleading them into making dangerous and unhealthy lifestyle choices that will negatively affect their entire lives." HRC's description: "Part of Human Rights Campaign’s driving agenda is legalizing homosexual marriage by judicial activism, bullying American corporations to embrace sexual perversion and encouraging lawsuits against Christian-owned businesses and states." Also listed under "Homosexual Agenda," interestingly, is the AARP.

Listed under "Anti-Christian" are the SPLC, People For The American Way, Americans United for Separation of Church and State, the Freedom From Religion Foundation, the ACLU. Listed under humanist groups are the Freethinkers Society and dozens of similar groups. Atheists groups listed include American Atheists and dozens of state and local atheist organizations.

Perhaps obviously, this AFA map is meant to counter the Southern Poverty Law Center's map of hate groups. For the last few years the AFA and other hate groups have demanded that the SPLC take down their map. Those demands escalated in 2012 after a mentally ill man shot a security guard at the DC office of the Family Research Council, later telling the FBI that he used the SPLC's map to find their office. Like the SPLC, the AFA's map only lists the city and state of each group and no actual address is provided.

It's rather amusing that a group whose de facto spokesman regularly calls for the imprisonment of millions of LGBT Americans and who has repeatedly declared that non-Christians have no place in the United States has the gall to publish a "bigotry map."

Brian Brown: Ginsburg Must Recuse

From World Net Daily:
The calls for Ruth Bader Ginsburg to drop out of the same-sex marriage case looming before the U.S. Supreme Court are surging after she gave Bloomberg News an interview in which she lobbied for the practice. The 81-year-old, far-left justice revealed her preferences when she said it “would not take a large adjustment” for Americans “should the justices say gay marriage is constitutional.” “Even the attempt to posture that as a judge you’re obeying a code of ethics is now gone,” [snip] The National Organization for Marriage agreed with Whelan. Brian Brown, the group’s president, told WND. “They do whatever they want. She should recuse herself. It’s embarrassing for the judiciary.” Brown said basic judicial ethics “that any judge should follow would clearly advise against commenting on a case currently coming up before you.” WND previously noted both Ginsburg and Kagan, who was appointed by Barack Obama, have officiated at same-sex ceremonies.
Not mentioned by WND, of course, is that Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas both openly socialize with anti-gay marriage activists and former NOM chairman Robert George.

ALABAMA: Gay Lawmaker Threatens To Reveal Colleagues' Adulterous Affairs

"I will not stand by and allow legislators to talk about ‘family values’ when they have affairs, and I know of many who are and have. I will call our elected officials who want to hide in the closet out. It is pretty well known that we have people in Montgomery who are or have had affairs. I just want them to be careful what they’re saying, some of it might come back to stick on them." - Openly gay Alabama state Rep. Patricia Todd, speaking today to the Montgomery Times-Daily.

Porno Pete Schools Us On Hypocrisy

Peter LaBarbera gets very upset when I use the term "Teabagistan" as I did earlier today. I responded, for the hundredth time, that I'll stop using that expression as soon he stops using homofascist, gaystapo, deviant, and pervert. He responded by calling me a homofascist and member of the "Gay-KK." That'll teach me! LaBarbera then refused to denounce his BFF's claims about "sodomite semen" in Starbucks coffee.

Family Research Council: "Fascist" Gays Are Calling Us Terrible Names

"Some of us in the social conservative movement are used to being called names and having our motives aspersed by gay activists in the so-called blogosphere. Such persons should be shown the same love by Evangelicals as those believers have been shown by their Savior. Yet showing them such love does not mean their public agenda should not be opposed, vigorously, nor that such opposition is loveless. To those less familiar with the terrain of public abuse, get ready: If they hated Him, they will hate you. The first few waves of attack (you're a bigot, a homophobe, an ignoramus, etc.) because you express publicly (at the neighborhood party, in the office, in your carpool, in your reading group; in putting up a lawn sign for a socially conservative candidate or openly supporting a pro-marriage initiative) your faith in Scripture's view of human sexuality might startle, but don't let them daunt you. Just don't respond in-kind or, in your word-choices or tone, give your opponents any ammunition for an attack." - Family Research Council vice president Rob Schwarzwalder, in a Christian Post column that calls us fascists in the second paragraph.

Wingnut Coalition To GOP: Now We LOVE The Democrats' Filibuster Rule Change

A coalition of far-right groups has sent a letter to incoming Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell urging him to keep the filibuster rule change made by the Democrats last year.
A group of 26 conservative academics, advocates and leaders wrote in a letter that they see “very little upside” to restoring the old rules, which had allowed the minority party to require 60 votes to confirm nominees. They say the rules would help Republicans put “committed constitutionalists” on the bench if the White House changes hands in 2016. “The decision by Senator [Harry] Reid and his Democratic colleagues to deploy the so-called ‘nuclear option’ was transparently designed to facilitate the confirmation of judicial nominees who would insulate ObamaCare and other aspects of President Obama’s agenda from meaningful judicial review,” the letter says.  Regardless of their motives, we see very little upside and significant downside in reviving the judicial filibuster.
You will recall that these groups screamed bloody murder when the Democrats made the filibuster rule change, even though many of them had explicitly advocated for that very change the last time the GOP was in charge. Among those signing this week's letter are Phyllis Schlafly, Gary Bauer, Concerned Women head Penny Nance, AFA radio shrieker Sandy Rios, Liberty Counsel head Mat Staver, and Family Research Council senior fellow Ken Blackwell.

Hypocrisy Explosion: World Congress Of Families Launches Petition Against "Haters" At Human Rights Campaign

The World Congress of Families concluded their Kremlin summit earlier this month by issuing a call for more nations to criminalize homosexuality. But today they're accusing the Human Rights Campaign of being "haters."
The grossly misnamed Human Rights Campaign (HRC) issued a so-called ‘report’ titled “The Export of Hate” that is nothing but an intentionally misleading, hate-filled attack on individuals and organizations and Christians who oppose their agenda of forcing a redefinition of marriage in America, and throughout the world. The ‘report’ has enjoyed some attention among uncritical, leftist online media outlets. As is their custom, the HRC cites long-discredited and ideologically partisan sources such as the Southern Poverty Law Center to give apparent credibility to their hate-filled invective. They also intentionally misrepresent facts, twisting them beyond recognition to justify the charge that somehow supporting marriage as the union of one man and one woman around the world is wrong.

Several individuals associated with the World Congress of Families including Larry Jacobs, Janice Crouse and Brian Brown were singled out by HRC in their report. The HRC says World Congress of Families is part of a “network of American extremists who are working tirelessly to undercut LGBT people around the world,” people who spread “venomous rhetoric, outrageous theories and discredited science.” The suggestion is made that people like me are OK with “systematic stigmatization, persecution and violence” and may even be fine with gays and lesbians being put to death. WCF readily and proudly pleads guilty to the “crime” of not supporting the HRC’s desire to redefine marriage. WCF has had the nerve to express that view not only here in America, but when invited to speak in other countries. Hence, in the distorted world of the HRC, I am an extremist and “export hate.”

But as HRC well knows, WCF has consistently denounced hate and violence. It is a slur and lie to claim otherwise. It should be clear to any honest observer that the truth is not what HRC is after. Instead they simply seek to silence and intimidate those with whom they disagree. Hence, the self-professed purpose of their “report” is to name and shame those who stand for the truth of the nature of marriage. WCF is proud to have played some small role in this emerging global movement. One of the few things HRC correctly notes is that WCF leaders have spoken at conferences around the world. However, these speeches focused not on “hate” or “division” but on the importance of individuals of different faiths, nationalities, cultures, and political creeds uniting together in a shared defense of the truth of marriage and family. Working together with men and women dedicated to protecting the family is not the definition of hate, but love.
While written in the first person, the petition does not include its author's name. I suspect it was written by Breitbart columnist and C-FAM leader Austin Ruse. The petition is being hosted on CitizenGO, which is affiliated with Brian Brown's Act Right group.
