Minnesota's state Republican Party has launched a
petition drive demanding that the wording of the state's anti-gay marriage referendum be returned to the language agreed upon by the GOP-dominated legislature. That bill was vetoed by the governor and Secretary of State Mark Ritchie contends that version is therefore invalid. Ritchie's title for the ballot measure is more gay-friendly in that it contains the negative word "limiting." Fifteen GOP lawmakers have joined with anti-gay hate groups in a lawsuit to restore the original language.
