PROVINCETOWN: Man Found Dead Under Boatslip Resort's Pool Deck
The Cape Cod Times reports:
A man was found dead early this morning behind the Boatslip Resort, where state police and town detectives are investigating, Provincetown police said. Police were called shortly after 6:40 a.m. to the 161 Commercial St. hotel, after the body was discovered beneath the deck, said Provincetown police Sgt. Glenn Enos. The cause of death is unknown, though the man was found “well above the tide line,” Enos said, leading police to believe the body was not washed ashore. The man's name has not yet been released. Carnival Week, which is by far Provincetown's biggest annual festival, is underway right now.
UPDATE: A few more details have been released.
No foul play is associated with a man's body found early this morning under the deck of the Boatslip Resort, based on preliminary police findings, Cape and Islands First Assistant District Attorney Michael Trudeau said. The name of the man, who was in his late 40s, will be released once next-of-kin is notified, possibly later today, Trudeau said late this morning. The state medical examiner's office will conduct an autopsy and toxicology analysis, he said.
