No Prop 8 Ruling Tomorrow

The website for the California Supreme Court nearly buckled under the traffic from anxious gays around the country this morning, but they have finally updated the site to indicate that no rulings will be issued tomorrow. Many had expected such, including Equality California and other groups that issued statements. As the Court only issues their rulings on Mondays and Thursday (or Tuesday next week, due to the holiday), this leaves only four possible dates before the deadline in two weeks.

UPDATE: Towleroad is reporting that SF Mayor Gavin Newsom asked the Court to delay their ruling so that it did not coincide with anniversary of the White Night Riots, as I speculated last night.

UPDATE II: Via JMG reader Justin and my pal Ned: Mayor Newsom's office is denying intervening in the ruling's release.
