Cleveland City Council Pledges $2M To 2014 Gay Games

The city council of Cleveland has pledged $700K in cash and $1.3M in in-kind donations in their bid to bring the 2014 Gay Games to Ohio. An additional $500K in private donations has been pledged to defray the expected $8.2M cost of the games. A delegation from Cleveland will be in Cologne, Germany at the end of the month to make their final presentation to the committee that must choose between them, Boston, and Washington DC. The final decision will be issued September 29th.
