INDIANA: Senate Approves Marriage Ban

By the overwhelming margin of 40-10, this afternoon the GOP-dominated Indiana Senate voted to enshrine a ban on same-sex marriage and civil unions in the state constitution. The Indiana House approved the bill last month. Both chambers must approve the bill again by 2014 before the ban can be put to the voters. Indiana already bans same-sex marriage by statute.
