Brian Brownshirt: We're Gonna Win All Five Marriage Equality Ballot Measures
"It's crunch time. We view it as a massive opportunity for a national referendum. It's going to be a big challenge, but I think we're up to it. All we need is enough to get our message out. The other side is going to scream, but this is no time for retreat. Whatever we do, we've gotten to a point where many on the opposite side resort to calling folks bigots who disagree with them." - NOM president Brian Brownshirt, telling the Associated Press that he expects to win all five of this fall's marriage-related ballot measures.
In North Carolina and Minnesota, voters will decide on whether to create a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage. In Washington state and Maryland, if the petitions gain the necessary signatures, voters will decide whether or not to repeal already-approved same-sex marriage bills. In Maine, voters will once again decide on legalizing same-sex marriage in a ballot measure already qualified by gay activists.
