New Sales Record For iPhone 5
Apple reported today that pre-orders for the iPhone 5 have eclipsed all previous records. More than two million units were sold in the first 24 hours.
Last year, Apple reported that, overall, the iPhone 4S had sold one million pre-orders in the first 24 hours, a figure that the company said it was “blown away” by at the time. Demand [for the iPhone 5] was so high, the company said, that while the “majority of pre-orders” will be delivered to customers at the end of this week, the company has already taken orders that will not ship until October.The new model hits store shelves on Friday.
