Rep. Aaron Schock: No Run For IL Gov
Totally straight Rep. Aaron Schock has announced that he will not be running for governor of Illinois.
Schock, 31, from Peoria, ultimately decided he could do more good politically for the state by staying in the Republican-led House than by seeking the governor's office, said Steven Shearer, Schock's chief of staff. "It's been up and down," Shearer said of Schock's decision-making for 2014. "He really has strongly considered all aspects of it." Schock's decision removes from the potential field a youthful former state legislator with a demonstrated ability to raise money. Now in his third term, Schock is the second-youngest member of Congress. He intends to run for a fourth term in 2014.
