NYC Stonewall Democrats Endorse Quinn
Via press release:
The Stonewall Democratic Club of New York City, the city’s leading LGBT party organization, will back City Council Speaker Christine Quinn for Mayor of New York City. The Speaker won the club’s endorsement in a landslide victory Wednesday evening, capturing 80% of the vote.RELATED: The National Stonewall Democrats went on an "indefinite hiatus" earlier this year due to lack of funding.
The city’s oldest LGBT Democratic organization joins a growing list of supportive LGBT groups, including the Empire State Pride Agenda’s Political Action Committee, The Human Rights Campaign and the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund and a host of elected officials, including Assemblywoman Deborah Glick, State Senator Brad Hoylman.
“There’s no question that Speaker Quinn’s candidacy is a historic opportunity for New York City, but more important is her unmatched record of delivering for all New Yorkers,” said Stonewall Democratic Club President Melissa Sklarz.
