Islan Nettles Vigil Rescheduled
From the Facebook page of the NYC Anti-Violence Project: "At the request of Ms. Nettles' family, the vigil originally planned for Monday will be rescheduled to a date later in the week. Harlem Pride and AVP will keep you updated on the new time and place." Nettles, a 21 year-old transgender woman, was murdered in Harlem last week by a man that was allegedly shouting homophobic slurs. No arrest has been made.
UPDATE: Harlem Pride has announced that the vigil will now take place tomorrow night (Tuesday) near the scene of the attack. More details.
