Fundraiser: Stop Scott Lively
From the group representing Ugandan LGBT activists in the lawsuit against anti-gay evangelical Scott Lively comes this plea:
To Stop Scott Lively, our organizations, the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) and Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG), worked together to file the first-of-its-kind case against Lively, where we secured a historic ruling establishing persecution on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity as crimes against humanity. This significant ruling will help LGBTI people around the world. Now the litigation is moving into a critical phase, and that's where you come in. Join with us in our effort to Stop Scott Lively by making a tax-deductible gift to help fund this vital litigation. Any gift you make is appreciated. Your donation will help contribute to the expenses below.Donations go to funding subpoenas, paying for expert witnesses, and for airfare to the United States for Ugandans to testify against Lively. Longtime JMG readers will know that Lively is considered one of the main architects of anti-gay legislation sweeping across Africa. Lively himself takes credit for Russia's anti-gay crackdown. Please consider helping out.
