CALIFORNIA: Gov Signs Bill Removing "Husband" & "Wife" From Marriage Laws
Yesterday California Gov. Jerry Brown signed openly gay state Sen. Mark Leno's bill which changes the wording in marriage statutes, replacing "husband" and "wife" with gender-neutral terms like "spouse." The bill also removes limits on recognizing legal out-of-state same-sex marriages. Expect Tony Perkins to scream that it's now a crime to say "husband and wife."
