SOUTH CAROLINA: Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock
The Supreme Court has yet to respond to South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson's demand to extend a lower court's stay on the ruling that overturned that state's ban on same-sex marriage. That stay expires at noon today. Yesterday several marriage licenses were issued and at least one gay wedding took place despite today's deadline. Has SCOTUS ever refused to even acknowledge one of these stay demands?
