Hillary Clinton Surprises Barbara Walters On Her Last Day Of The View

Via ABC News:
Hillary Clinton, who has been on a whirlwind schedule since stepping down as Secretary of State, surprised Barbara Walters on the final day of her 50 year career today and gave her advice – take a vacation. “You’re in no position to tell me!” Walters laughed. Clinton, who showed up on Walters’ last day on The View, said she really has been relaxing and so should Walters. “Take some time. You have a wealth of friends who adore you. Spend some time with them, take a real vacation,” Clinton said. “I go out with my dogs, my husband and I take long walks, just let down and enjoy. Clinton added: “For like a week at least.” Walters couldn’t let the possible 2016 presidential candidate go without talking trying to get a scoop, telling Clinton: “The question I really want to as you is if you are going to run.” “Well I am running. Around the park,” Clinton said to laughs.
Today's show was taped yesterday.

Rosie O'Donnell To Return To The View

But only for one show. For now.
Sweeps tend to bring together the strangest bedfellows in pursuit of ratings. On February 7, The View will welcome back former co-host Rosie O’Donnell six years after her nuclear exit from the show amidst a reported feud with View co-host/executive producer Barbara Walters. Now the two will reunite in Walters’ final season on the show. Said Walters, “I have great affection for Rosie and we have remained in contact through the years. I am happy to welcome her back to the program. She is always a lively and engaging guest and a part of the show’s successful history.”
It's a pity that Elizabeth Hasselbeck won't be there. Heh.

NJ Gov. Chris Christie: I'm Not Too Overweight To Be President

Last night on Barbara Walter's "Ten Most Interesting People" special, NJ Gov. Chris Christie said that he doesn't think he's too overweight to be president.
When Ms. Walters said some people say he is too overweight to be president, Mr. Christie, a Republican who is often mentioned as a potentially formidable candidate in 2016, responded: “That’s ridiculous. I don’t know what the basis for that is.” Ms. Walters said that people were concerned about his health and that people who were overweight were more prone to health problems like heart disease and diabetes. “I think people watched me for the last number of weeks and Hurricane Sandy doing 18-hour days and getting right back up the next day and still being just as effective in the job,” he told Ms. Walters. “So I don’t really think that would be a problem.”
The heaviest president in history was William Howard Taft, who weighed 340 pounds when he left office. Christie's weight has not been disclosed.

Quote Of The Day - Barbara Walters

"This guy, I'm sorry, he's gonna be Speaker of the House, and he's not gonna invite me to his Christmas party, but this guy has an emotional problem that every time he talks about anything that's not 'raise taxes' he cries. If this were a woman, if you saw Nancy Pelosi, who's been villified, and I'm not taking sides, if you saw her getting up and crying... I hope he's a good Speaker of the House, but he's got a problem." - Barbara Walters, on yesterday's episode of the View.

Oprah: I Am Totally NOT A Lesbian

Oprah Winfrey is sick and tired of all those lesbian rumors about her and gal pal Gayle King. And she's let Barbara Walters know that in no uncertain terms: "I'm not a lesbian. I'm not even kind of a lesbian. And the reason why it irritates me is because it means that somebody must think I'm lying. That's number one. Number two ... why would you want to hide it? That is not the way I run my life!"

Barbara Walters To Get Heart Surgery

On today's episode of The View, host Barbara Walters announced that she will be taking a hiatus from the show to undergo heart valve replacement surgery.
"Later this week, I'm going to have surgery to replace one faulty heart valve," Walters said, opening the show with news, which she had only revealed to her cohosts that morning. "You kept it secret very well, Barbara," Joy Behar said, and Walters explained, "I thought it best not to talk about it too far in advance." Walters, who said that she has known about her faulty valve for awhile, discovered it during an echocardiogram, and explained she and her doctors agreed, "Since the summer is coming up, I can take a nice vacation." Recovery can be anywhere from a month to three months, she said.
Walters is 80 years old.

Whoopi Calls Glenn Beck A Liar, To His Face, Live On The Air

Barbara Walters gets a few punches in too. Good stuff. Too bad it's about something as silly as seating on Amtrak instead of Beck's outrageous statements against gays and immigrants.
