Pogo - Forget

Pogo is the globally popular 25 year-old electronic artist from Perth, Australia formerly known as Fagottron. After a deal to work with Pixar, his work began to appear under the Pogo moniker. (His real name is Nick Bertke.) In 2011 he was arrested during his US tour for not having a proper work visa and was subsequently banned from re-entering the country for ten years. Last year he abruptly canceled his widely-followed social media accounts and closed commenting on his YouTube channel, which has over 114 million views. See if you can name all the sampled films below.

Pogo - Kenya Chords

Another gorgeous entry from the looping/mixing king.

RELATED: Yesterday Pogo also posted an earnest video plea for help as Homeland Security has banned him from entering the United States for ten years due to a visa violation that does appear to have been his fault. He's blaming his booking agency and has launched a petition.

Pogo - Gardyn

Pogo, the 21 year-old musical genius from Perth, Australia, whose trippily gorgeous compositions using vocal samples from classic movies have captivated us for the last couple of years, has done it again. Using the sounds of his mother's garden and samples of her voice, here is his Mother's Day tribute, Gardyn.

RELATED: While his YouTube channel continues to carry his Fagottron moniker, now that he's been hired by Disney's Pixar to promote their films, he's going by Pogo professionally. (His real name is Nick Bertke.) Many of his tracks are available for free download at Last FM.

Fagottron's UPular Remix

YouTube whiz kid Fagottron, whose hypnotic spliced up Disney remixes I've posted here several times, has apparently gone into business with Disney itself, as his take on Pixar's UPular is being promoted on the Pixar YouTube channel. Pixar refers to the artist as Pogo, which is apparently his stage name in his native Australia. It's great to see a company actually endorse work that positively builds on their own, rather than shut it down as so often happens. Last year Disney also allowed the "gay boys on Fire Island" take on Miley Cyrus' Party In The USA to remain on YouTube without complaint.

Skynet Symphonic

This is a bit of a departure from YouTube genius Fagottron, whose gorgeous takes on Mary Poppins and Willy Wonka many of you liked last year.
Comprising nothing but small sounds recorded from the James Cameron masterpiece 'Terminator 2: Judgement Day', 'Skynet Symphonic' is my tribute to one of the greatest action features of all time! Each section is composed entirely of sounds from a major scene in the film. For example, the Terminator pounding on the fire escape door is used as a kick drum. Bones breaking play the role of a snare. Electrical disturbance acts as a crash cymbal.
