South Australia To Get Marriage Bill

Tammy Franks of the Green Party and the Labor Party's Ian Hunter will formally announce their plan to the state parliament. A similar bill was recently introduced in Tasmania, and one is waiting in the wings in Victoria. Hunter said in a statement, that while it will be more difficult to pass nationwide legislation to legalize marriage equality regional bills could be effective.As in the United States, activists in Australia are working a state-by-state campaign while simultaneously battling federal opposition.
