Stonewall Rebellion To Be Featured In
New York State Museum Exhibit

This just in from New York State Assemblyman Daniel O'Donnell's office:
December , 17 2007 – Under the leadership of Assembly Member O’Donnell, openly lesbian, gay, and bisexual state legislators (O’Donnell, Assembly Member Deborah Glick, State Senator Thomas Duane, Assembly Member Matthew Titone, and Assembly Member Micah Kellner) have secured a commitment from the New York State Museum to include the Stonewall Rebellion in an exhibit which will explore the fight for human rights throughout the history of New York State.

The 2006-07 state budget included $20 million to create exhibits that more accurately reflect New York State’s paramount position in American history. One of the new exhibits was slated to include places and citizens of the state that played a dominant role in civil and human rights movements.
The exhibit is still being planned. The New York State Museum is in Albany, so hopefully they'll eventually travel the exhibit to NYC. Congrats to O'Donnell (Rosie's bro) and his team. Micah Kellner, the first openly bisexual state legislator in NY, is my rep in the Assembly.
