Morning View - Webster Hall

Built in 1886, last week Webster Hall was granted landmark status by the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission. The East Village nightclub and concert venue is owned by Unity Gallega, a cultural group for immigrants from the Galacia region of Spain. Unity Gallega objected to the landmark designation, worried that it will damage the resale price of the building. They plan to appeal. This Sunday, Webster Hall will host Alegria Extreme, the annual post-Black Party circuit event created by promoter Ric Sena.
