Focus On The Family Fires Employee Busted For Focusing On Underage Sex
Remember the Focus On The Family employee who was busted To Catch A Predator-style last week? It took them ten days, but he's been fired.
Focus on the Family spokesman Gary Schneeberger says Juan Alberto Ovalle, 42, was fired Thursday after he was formally charged with criminal attempted sexual assault on a child and Internet luring of a child. Ovalle had worked for Focus on the Family since 2003 as a Spanish-language translator of radio broadcasts and other programs. Authorities say Ovalle was arrested April 3 when he drove to Lakewood to meet someone he thought was a girl under age 15. He allegedly started chatting online April 2 with the person, who was an undercover officer.Won't someone please think of the chil- oh, wait, he WAS.
