Obama May Be Golfing In San Francisco During The National Equality March
The Bay Area Reporter notes that President Obama will likely be in San Francisco to take part in the biannual Presidents Cup golf tournament as the National Equality March takes place back in DC. The White House has not yet confirmed Obama's participation, saying his October schedule has not yet been set, but the last time a president missed the tournament was in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina (briefly) held Dubya's attention.
NEM organizer Kip Williams tells the B.A.R. that he "isn't concerned" that the president may not be in DC during the March, but that he wants "to make sure there's some genuine activism that's happening locally." Since I'll be in SF with a horde of good friends that day, I'm looking forward to whatever opportunity Obama's possible appearance may present.
