DREAM Act Protest At Netroots Nation
During Sen. Harry Reid's appearance at Netroots Nation, four undocumented students in caps and gowns approached the stage to stand in silent protest for the passage of the DREAM Act, the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors bill that would provide conditional permanent residency to students that have no arrest record, have graduated high school, and have been in the country for at least five years. After Reid and the moderator moved on from the topic of immigration reform, the four protesters returned to their seats to scattered applause. (Many in the room did not know what they were doing.) Later in this clip, they speak with Dan Choi.
