REPORT: Maggie Gone From NOM

The Associated Press is tweeting that NOM has replaced its co-founder Maggie Gallagher with Chapman University professor John Eastman. You may recall Eastman's laughable and failed dirty trick of attempting to have the repeal of Prop 8 overturned while Gov. Schwarzenegger was out the country. His bio:
Dr. John C. Eastman is the Henry Salvatori Professor of Law & Community Service at Chapman University School of Law, and also served as the School’s Dean from June 2007 to January 2010, when he stepped down to pursue a bid for California Attorney General. He is the Founding Director of the Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence, a public interest law firm affiliated with the Claremont Institute, and the current Chairman of the Constitutional Jurisprudence Clinic. Prior to joining the Chapman Law faculty in August 1999, he served as a law clerk with Justice Clarence Thomas at the Supreme Court of the United States and with Judge J. Michael Luttig at the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
In April 2010 Gallagher handed over NOM's presidency to Brian Brown and became the chaircow of their board of directors. Since then she's rarely been sighted at NOM's events and has mostly been heard from via anti-gay editorials published on wingnut websites.

CORRECTION: Contrary to my headline, Gallagher has not left NOM entirely but has merely stepped down as chairman. She says: "I will remain on the NOM board, and continue to work on specific projects for NOM, as well as taking on some additional outside projects I've long deferred, such as finishing my book Debating Same-Sex Marriage which I've been working on for Oxford University Press with Prof. John Corvin."
