AMFAR Donates To HIV Cure Research
Poz Magazine has the news:
The Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) has awarded more than $800,000 in three new HIV cure grants to research teams in the amfAR Research Consortium on HIV Eradication (ARCHE), according to an amfAR statement. The teams will: investigate if disulfriam, an FDA-approved drug for the treatment of alcoholism, can get dormant virus out of latency so HIV drugs can attack it; study two cases of people similar to the “Berlin Patient” who may also be cured of HIV; and study five cases of adolescents born with the virus who started HIV drugs soon after birth who now test HIV negative.More about the grant recipients here.
