MN Marriage Bill To Be Introduced

Openly gay Minnesota state Sen. Scott Dibble plans to introduce his marriage equality bill this week.
Dibble believes this legislation has the momentum to pass after voters defeated a constitutional amendment that would’ve strengthened the existing gay marriage ban.  “It’s just simply an amendment that removes the restriction that disallows some couples from getting married,” Dibble said. “My strong sense, even from folks in greater Minnesota, is that they’re comfortable with this, they know that Minnesota has changed a lot and is continuing to change at a very rapid pace.”
Dibble says that his bill and a similar one set to be introduced in the state House will likely not be considered until after both chambers finish their upcoming budget deliberations. Minnesota For Marriage, home to the detestable Kalley Yanta, is planning to protest against the bills at the state Capitol Building on March 7th.
