Tempest In A Treepot: Simon Doonan's White House Ornaments

Simon Doonan, the openly gay creative director of Barney's, was hired last month to decorate the White House for the holidays. Cue the wingnuts, who are now completely losing their shit because of a few ornaments Doonan hung on one of the White House's many Christmas trees. Adorning one of the ornaments is a signed photo from NYC drag star Hedda Lettuce, surrounded by rainbow flags. Another features a tiny replica of Andy Warhol's dragged-up portrait of Chairman Mao. Patriotic Resistance is spearheading a complaint campaign to Doonan's agent, who is surely delighted. And of course, Fox News is all over it.
