Next month the red-caped Catholic loons of Tradition, Family & Property will stage a mass anti-gay praying of the rosary outside the White House and Brian Brown invites you to join in:
Join the National Organization for Marriage as we gather in front of the White House to pray the Rosary on August 15th from 10am-12pm. The purpose of this event is to give witness to the nation the glory of God's plan for marriage through prayer, fasting & sacrifice. Our goal is to have at least 500 men (and women) gathered in front of the White House to show our support for the belief that every child has the right to a mother and a father. Please see White House Witness for more details. We hope you can make it! The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. - Edmund BurkeBrown either doesn't know or doesn't care that Burke never said the above quote. Or that in 1780 he denounced the punishment of two men accused of sodomy. Whatever! Get out your beads! Bonus: Alan Keyes will be there.

"It's unprecedented in American history that the president of the United States would be so in-your-face immoral and impose that immorality and sin on the rest of the country. I wept when I saw that and thought about what a horrible example that is to the rest of the world. I just felt shameful to be an American at that point in time, that this is my country and look what my country has come to. The president of the United States has put the cloak of sin over the White House, the cloak of shame over the White House." - Hate group leader Mat Staver, speaking today on Christian radio.

Russia has officially gone Manif Pour Tous. Via the Moscow Times:
Russia's ruling political party has designed a “heterosexual flag” to honor traditional family values, the Izvestia newspaper reported Wednesday. Copies of the flag, which feature the outlines of a man and a woman holding hands with three children, were shown to Izvestia by Andrei Lisovenko, deputy head of the United Russia branch in Moscow. The flags also come printed with the Russian-language hashtag “A Real Family.”Founded only in 2001, United Russia presently holds over half of the seats in the Duma and the vast majority of the seats in Russian's regional legislatures. Putin served as its chairman from 2007 to 2012 when he assumed the presidency. (Via Towleroad)
According to Lisovenko, the flag will have its official unveiling at Moscow's Sokolniki park later Wednesday, where hundreds of people will gather for a United Russia rally in honor of the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity, which the country celebrates annually on July 8. United Russia's decision to unveil a “heterosexual flag” comes after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled to legalize same-sex marriage in late June, when the White House was lit up in the colors of the rainbow flag traditionally associated with the LGBT community.
“This is our response to same-sex marriage, to this mockery of the concept of the family. We have to warn against gay-fever at home and support traditional values in our country,” Lisovenko was quoted as saying by Izvestia. The Day of Family, Love and Fidelity is a relatively new celebration in Russia, having only been introduced in 2008. In honor of the holiday, divorces have been banned for the day in four Russian regions — Tula, Amur, Kaluga and Kurban — the Lenta.ru news site reported.

"A lot has changed in three short years! Just three years ago, the President was on record as holding to the biblical definition of marriage. Now he can't say enough about his support for the LGBT agenda—and right after the Supreme Court’s decision to legalize same-sex marriage, he had the gall to disgrace the White House by lighting it up with the gay pride rainbow colors to celebrate. This is arrogantly flaunting sinful behavior in the face of Almighty God. My advice? He might want to have some extra lightning rods installed on the roof of the White House." - Franklin Graham, posting yesterday to Facebook.

Politico reports that the idea to bathe the White House in rainbow lights was conceived months ago.
SPOTTED, at 4 a.m. Sat. at the White House: Jeff Tiller, 32, the White House director of specialty media (includes LGBT outreach) and former press-advance marvel, who had the inspired idea of bathing the North Portico (“The President’s Front Door”) in rainbow lighting. The crowds were gone, sunrise was coming, and the lighting contractors who had installed the rainbow were long asleep. After spending the night at the White House in a lawn chair, Jeff climbed downstairs to the tradesman entrance to unplug the lights that he had conceived of months earlier. You can thank Tiller on Twitter. "The President had the White House lit up in rainbow colors to celebrate the Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage. This is outrageous—a real slap in the face to the millions of Americans who do not support same-sex marriage and whose voice is being ignored. God is the one who gave the rainbow, and it was associated with His judgment. God sent a flood to wipe out the entire world because mankind had become so wicked and violent. One man, Noah, was found righteous and escaped God’s judgment with his family. The rainbow was a sign to Noah that God would not use the flood again to judge the world. But one day God is going to judge sin—all sin. Only those who are found righteous will be able to escape His judgment. That righteousness comes through faith, believing on the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ who took our sins and shed His blood on the cross for each and every one. So, when we see the gay pride rainbow splashed on business advertisements and many people’s Facebook pages, may it remind all of us of God’s judgment to come. Are you ready? Are your sins forgiven?" - Franklin Graham, posting to Facebook.

CNN reports:
President Barack Obama is used to hecklers stopping him during speeches -- but he draws the line when the audience interrupts him in his own house. As Obama was speaking at a White House event honoring LGBT Pride Month on Wednesday, an accented voice rang out from the crowd. Obama wasn't amused. "Shame on you," he told his heckler, who was protesting deportations under the Obama administration. Obama responded, "Listen you're in my house ... it's not respectful."Heckling any president inside the White House is extremely rare, hence Obama's reaction.
The interruption persisted, however, and Obama asked for the heckler to be removed from the East Room. "As a general rule I am just fine with a few hecklers. But not when I'm up here in the house," he said, as Vice President Joe Biden clapped him on the back.
Obama responds to hecklers at speech Obama said later if guests are "eating the hors d'oeuvres and drinking the booze," they're typically expected to listen respectfully.
Shortly after the incident, an immigration group claimed the protestor was an undocumented immigrant named Jennicet Gutiérrez, who is transgender. According to a press release, Gutiérrez was a founding member of FAMILIA TQLM, established to advocate for LGBTQ immigrants who the group says are often excluded in the immigration debate.

"Michelle and I join our fellow Americans and others around the world in commemorating the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia. We take this opportunity to reaffirm that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) rights are human rights, to celebrate the dignity of every person, and to underscore that all people deserve to live free from fear, violence, and discrimination, regardless of who they are or whom they love.

The White House just issued a proclamation in recognition of National Foster Care Month in which President Obama backs LGBT parents. An excerpt via press release:
We know that children are best raised in families, not institutions. And each year, men and women of all backgrounds open their homes and hearts to foster children. These selfless individuals step up and serve as loving parents and family members and dedicated teachers, mentors, caseworkers, and faith leaders -- helping foster children realize their highest aspirations despite the great odds stacked against them. My Administration is striving to bolster all those who support foster children by providing the resources and assistance they need. With so many children waiting for loving homes, it is important to ensure all qualified caregivers have the opportunity to serve as foster or adoptive parents, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status. That is why we are working to break down the barriers that exist and investing in efforts to recruit more qualified parents for children in foster care.
