Wingnuts Love Denny's Ad
Business Insider reports:
Denny's new ad for the Midwestern Meat & Potatoes Sandwich is drawing exuberant praise from conservatives for a line about how "the right to bear arms" is one of the things that makes America great. "Kids," a father in the commercial asks, "Do you know what it is that makes this country great?" He's referring to the all-American thousand-calorie sandwich, but Denny's patrons begin rattling off "the Constitution our forefathers wrote" and "our right to bear arms!" Even though the ad wasn't entirely serious (at the very end, the little girl holds up her teddy bear and asks, "Bear arms?"), conservatives are singing the chain's praises. "AMEN! I'm going to Denny's tomorrow," reads a top YouTube comment. Adweek notes that the reaction is a "bit ironic after all the calls this week to boycott Oreo for posting its pro-gay message on Facebook."
