So says "hero" Gen. Jerry Boykin, who was investigated by the Department of Defense after he publicly said that the U.S. the war on terrorism was actually a war on Islam itself. After Bush II backpedaled furiously from Boykin's statement, the DOD concluded that the general had broken multiple rules of military protocol, including not having permission to speak publicly on the issue and having not disclosed speaking engagement payments made to him by religious groups. Boykin retired with no penalties. His present gigs are summed up by Boykin himself: "As a Christian, I believe that there is a spiritual war that is continuous as articulated in the Bible."
