There's A Moon In The Sky

Via Wonkette:
This may be the goofiest thing the Maddow Show has ever run. On the QVC shopping channel, host Shawn Killinger and designer Isaac Mizrahi got into a debate over the true nature of the moon, after Killinger remarked that the swirly pattern on a cardigan looked like the view of Earth from zillions of miles away, like “from planet Moon.” Planet? No, that’s not right. The moon’s a star, isn’t it? And so a shopping channel became the forum for a debate over whether the moon is a planet or a star, or maybe something else. When someone off set finally looked it up on Wikipedia and said it was a “natural satellite,” neither Killinger nor Mizrahi were ready to buy that.
Mizrahi: "Things live on it, I think it’s a planet."

God To Boycott Isaac Mizrahi

Fashion icon Isaac Mizrahi is under fire for using his Twitter account and appearing on QVC during Yom Kippur.  Even God herself is calling for a boycott and has refused to buy that stunning drop waist Mizrahi couture number she's had her all-seeing eye on.
Mizrahi was not on air Friday before or after sundown — when Yom Kippur officially began. But the holiday stretches 24 hours, and the designer was active on Twitter and appeared live on TV before sundown on Saturday, a period when observant Jews are supposed to refrain from work of any kind. Mizrahi faces backlash, with one prominent Jewish media honcho telling us the decision to work was a slap in the face. “There is talk of many Jews boycotting his products because of his outlandish appearance on his show,” the source tells us. The well-respected author Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, known as “America’s Rabbi,” weighed in on why the Jewish community is upset. “It seems now G-d isn’t going to be one of his customers, because it is a pretty big account to lose,” Boteach told us. “Modern people have to learn to put values before money, and if Sandy Koufax could give up the World Series for Yom Kippur, then Isaac Mizrahi could give up a few hours of hawking some of his wares.”
Mizrahi has not reacted on his Twitter account.
