Mr. Black To Stay Open

Although yesterday it was reported that popular NYC gay club Mr. Black had been closed due to tax issues, reps for the club are saying today that it will remain open. Michael Musto:

Mr. Black is NOT dead! That's what Akash, one of the club's Thursday night "Boys Gone Wild" promoters now tells me. In an email, Akash swears, "Yes, we are open tomorrow night, confirmed both by Stuart Black and Jonny McGovern." In fact, I hear Stuart sent out an email to staffers saying, "Attention bitches, despite reports to the contrary, we are open this week and are not closing." Funny--just yesterday, people noticed the "seized by the New York State taxation office" signs all over the joint. My, things happen so quickly here! Maybe Donald Trump chipped in and saved them?

Apparently the club's landlord has squared things away somehow. In 24 hours. Gotham nightlife works in mysterious ways.

Mr. Black Closed For Back Taxes

Popular NYC gay club Mr. Black has been closed. Again.

Mr. Black, my favorite new club--which is actually the relocated version of the place that shut down last year after a drug raid crippled it--has just been seized by the tax man! There are signs on the place saying officials have taken it over for non payment of New York State taxes! This place is fucking cursed!

I think this is third time Mr. Black has been closed. Last year 32 patrons and staffers were arrested in a drug raid, but most were released without charges.
