Anti-Gay Hate Group Launches National Robo-Call Campaign Against Romney
The SPLC-certified hate group Mass Resistance has launched a national robocall campaign against that homo lover, Mitt Romney. Transcript: Hi, my name is Brian Camenker; I'm a Jew from Massachusetts. And, this is Darcy Brandon; I'm a Christian from California. If you believe as we do that marriage and sexuality should only be between a man and a woman, please help us stop Mitt Romney. As Governor, Romney signed “Gay Youth Pride Day” declarations, promoted homosexuality in our elementary schools, and unconstitutionally ordered state officals to make Massachusetts America’s first same-sex marriage state. Romney supports open homosexuality in the military, the appointment of homosexual judges, and the ENDA law, making it illegal to fire a man who wears a dress and high heels to work, even if he’s your kid’s teacher. When you vote tomorrow, please vote for social sanity and Rick Santorum, NOT for homosexuality and Mitt Romney. Rick Santorum is the ONLY candidate who can be trusted to uphold traditional marriage, a straight military, and the rights of American children to have both a mother and a father. This message paid for by Jews and Christians Together.ORG and not authorized by any candidate. To get the FACTS before you vote, visit Jews and Christians Together. ORG.(Tipped by JMG reader Derek)

Santorum Is Robo-Calling Democrats
I've mentioned recently that progressive activists are encouraging Democrats to vote for Rick Santorum in open primaries in order to further fracture the GOP nomination process. Santorum is actually capitalizing on that plan and has robocalled Michigan voters asking for the same thing.

NOM Is Robo-Calling New Jersey
NOM's Brian Brownshirt is interrupting dinner time in the Garden State with demands to call legislators and denounce the pending same-sex marriage bill. “There’s an attempt by wealthy activists to force same sex marriage on New Jersey without a public vote. It’s urgent that you call your state senator and urge him to vote no on same sex legislation,” the call states. Recipients are then directed to call their specific representatives in Trenton. The calls started going out about two weeks ago to about half a million people who have expressed opposition to same sex marriage in the past, according to Brian Brown, president of the National Organization for Marriage, a group lobbying against the bill. Legislators have received more than 10,000 calls from those opposed since the same-sex marriage legislation was first announced by Democrats two weeks ago, Brown said. Many supporters are in the southern reaches of the state, along with areas with large number of African-Americans, he said. “It’s extensive,” Brown said of the “robo-call” effort.

Anti-Gay Robocalls Flood Iowa
Iowa television is reporting on the anti-gay robocalls that began flooding Iowa's voters last night. Nobody is taking responsibility for the messages, which are tagged from a group nobody's heard of. Wanna bet the fascists at NOM and/or the FRC are behind it? Hit the link for a video report. (Via - Good As You)UPDATE: NOM has just issued a press release claiming that the robocall campaign is actually a false flag operation meant to make anti-gay marriage activists look like crazy bigots.
"Yesterday a phony group claiming to support marriage launched robo calls that were so offensive they clearly were designed to turn voters away from Cindy Golding because she supports marriage between one man and one woman," said Brian Brown, president of NOM. "Neither NOM nor Family Leader had anything to do with these calls and we decry them. We call on the Attorney General to launch an investigation into this dirty trick to determine who is behind the calls, which are designed to steal the election from Ms. Golding."A poll released yesterday showed Golding trailing by six points. If that margin holds, NOM will surely turn her into a martyr of the robocall campaign. Which they are probably behind anyway.

Today In Anti-Gay Robocalls
ZOMG! A Democrat took a donation in the hundreds of dollars from an unidentified person who works in the "hardcore gay pornography" industry. Clearly she wants to destroy Christianity. Stone her! Stone her NOW.

Homosexual Homosexual Homosexual
Sam Stein reports at Huffington Post:
An otherwise obscure statehouse race in Midland County, Michigan, may be home to the most remarkable robocall of the election cycle -- put up by a social conservative group, it drops the word "homosexual" ten times. Over the weekend, Gary Glenn, the chairman of the Campaign for Michigan Families, released a robocall attacking the Democratic candidate in the race, Toni Sessoms, as a stooge for the "homosexual activist agenda." Sessoms is openly gay. But if a voter didn't know that, they certainly got the point after getting Glenn's call.

Massachusetts: NOM Making Anti-Gay Robocalls In Support Of Scott Brown
NOM is making to anti-gay robocalls to Massachusetts residents in support GOP U.S. Senate candidate Scott Brown. And of course, they're doing so by attacking Attorney General Martha Coakley's position on same-sex marriage. Via DC Agenda:
A supporter of Democratic candidate Martha Coakley recently relayed to DC Agenda a message from someone who said they received a robocall from NOM that attacks Coakley for her views on marriage and encourages a vote for Republican candidate and state Sen. Scott Brown:
Our household just got an automated call from the “National Organization for Marriage,” with a 202 area code. The auto call features a male voice, which is clearly a recording, asking if you support marriage as being only between a man and a woman. If you say “yes,” then the voice urges you to vote for Scott Brown as the only candidate with a proven record of supporting marriage as between a man and a woman. The call says that his opponent is a “radical” supporter of same-sex marriage who has opposed letting the people decide and has used taxpayer dollars to support the agenda of same-sex marriage. The call ends by asking if “we can count on you to vote for Scott Brown.” The quality of the recording is mediocre at best.

FTC Suing Robocall Telemarketers
Remember when I grumbled about getting 20 calls a week from scamsters claiming that my car warranty had expired? The FTC is finally suing the fuckers after NY Sen. Chuck Schumer complained that he had been getting the calls during meetings on Capitol Hill.
In two related complaints filed in federal court on Thursday, the FTC said it was taking action against the promoter of the phony extended auto warranties, as well as the telemarketing company that it hired to carry out its allegedly illegal campaign. The FTC filed complaints against four companies and a handful of individuals related to their operations. "This is one of the most aggressive telemarketing schemes the FTC has ever encountered," said FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz. The agency, which helps prevent fraudulent and deceptive business practices, said the robocalls have prompted complaints from consumers who are either on the "Do Not Call" registry or asked not to be called. According to the agency, five telephone numbers associated with the defendants have generated 30,000 complaints. If consumers answer the call, a "warranty specialist" would mislead them into believing their company was affiliated with an auto dealer or manufacturer and try to sell a service contract between $2,000 and $3,000, according to the FTC. The seller of these false warranties allegedly took in more than $10 million as a result of the phony service contracts. The FTC is seeking to freeze (and hopefully, seize) the company's assets.

More Fraudulent Anti-Gay Robocalls
Gay City News reports that voters in a New York state Senate district in Nassau County are getting robocalls falsely stating that the paper had endorsed the Democratic candidate.
According to an email received from a voter in the Sixth Senate District, which is in western Nassau County on Long Island, voters are being informed that Gay City News supports Democrat Kristen McElroy because "she will vote for gay marriage, and advance the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender agenda in Albany."The calls appear to be coming from a direct marketing firm in New Jersey. The actual endorsements of Gay City News can be found here.
A spokesman for McElroy's campaign confirmed that they are receiving the same information from district voters, and are not the source of the calls. The campaign of McElroy's opponent, Republican Kemp Hannon, the long-standing incumbent, told Gay City News they did not authorize the ads and do not know where they are coming from.
Gay City News did not make an endorsement in the Sixth District race, but McElroy is a marriage equality supporter, according to her campaign and to the voter guide published this week by the Empire State Pride Agenda, the state's gay rights lobby. The Pride Agenda did endorse McElroy's bid, and noted that Hannon, who opposes gay marriage and even voted against the 2002 gay rights bill that passed the Legislature by a wide margin, did not return the group's candidate questionnaire.

GOP Senate Candidate Scares Voters With Robocalls From Fake Gay Group
The GOP has reached a new low in South Carolina. Check this shit out:
Sources say Republican Senate candidate and current state Rep. Mick Mulvaney is reportedly behind the most underhanded phone call in South Carolina since John McCain didn't father a black child out of wedlock in 2000. The call purportedly comes from "The Alliance for the Advancement of Gays and Lesbians" and touts Mulvaney's opponent Mandy Powers Norrell's support for "homosexual unions and abortion rights."She's a PROVEN Democrat! Here's the audio of the clip:
Here's the audio and a transcript:
"Hi, this is Allison calling from the Alliance for the Advancement of Gays and Lesbians. We are a pro-gay rights, pro-choice grassroots organization. I am calling to let you know that we are supporting Mandy Powers Norrell in the state Senate. A proven Democrat, Mandy Powers Norrell supports homosexual unions and abortion rights. We can count on Mandy Powers Norrell to promote a progressive agenda in the state Senate and to fight the right wing fringe at every turn. Again, this is Allison with the Alliance for the Advancement of Gays and Lesbians asking you to vote for Democrat Mandy Powers Norrell on Tuesday, November 4. Thank you."

Wardrobe Malfunction
The Palins' now-famous $150K wardrobe? Some of the stores that show up on the RNC expense report can find no record of the purchases. There are still aspects of the Republican National Committee’s shopping sprees on behalf of Gov. Sarah Palin and her family that are murky. Some of the fashion experts consulted Wednesday, for instance, about the $150,000 in purchases that appeared on Federal Election Commission records were puzzled by where all of that money had gone, given what they had seen of Ms. Palin’s wardrobe."Aggressively directional men's wear"? Wazzat? Also: 47th & 7th? That's the middle of Times Square. I don't think they're selling aggressively directional men's wear at the TKTS booth or Olive Garden. Atelier is in SoHo. Curious. It's interesting that the Palin's personal shopper, Jeff Larson, also works for the GOP robocalling company responsible for those heinous Obama/Ayers calls. Is that where the money really went?Consider also the $4,902.45 charge at Atelier New York, a high-end men’s store, presumably for Ms. Palin’s husband, Todd, the famous First Dude. Karlo Steel, an owner there, said he had gone through the store’s receipts for September, twice, and found no sales that matched that amount, nor any combination of sales that added up to the total. Because the store carries aggressively directional men’s wear, he caters to a small clientèle and knows most of his customers by name, as well as the history of their purchases.

McCain's Newest Robocall
Here's the latest McCain robocall going out to voters all over the country:
"Hello. I'm calling for John McCain and the RNC, You need to know that Barack Obama has worked closely with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, whose organization bombed the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, a judge's home, and killed Americans. Democrats will enact an extreme leftist agenda if they take control of Washington. Barack Obama and his Democratic allies lack the judgment to lead our country."And yet last night on Letterman, McCain weaseled about this ridiculousness. "Oh, Dave. A million words are said over the course of a campaign."
