NEW YORK CITY: Mentally Ill Stalker Of Anderson Cooper Arraigned In Manhattan

A mentally ill gay man who has allegedly stalked Anderson Cooper for years was arraigned last night in Manhattan Criminal Court.
Since 2008, Alex Hausner — described as a gay, Jewish white supremacist — has allegedly made unwelcome phone calls plus four attempts to see Cooper, last month trying to kick down the red, lacquered door to the posh, four-story West Village converted firehouse that Cooper shares with his hunky, bar-owner boyfriend. “I swear to f--king God, don’t insult me,” a security camera caught Hausner shouting as he kicked, according to court papers. “I’m going to f--k you up!” In his three decades as a newsman, Cooper has ducked Israeli rockets in Gaza and braved radioactive clouds in Japan. But it’s Hausner — a Far Rockaway, Queens, psychiatric patient — who now has him rattled, court papers say.
Hausner is being held in lieu of $75,000 bail on charges of first degree menacing and misdemeanor stalking and harassment. He has multiple prior felony and misdemeanor convictions, according to prosecutors.

Accused Westboro Stalker Released

Iraq war veteran and double-amputee Ryan Newell has been released from jail in Topeka, Kansas after police arrested him last week for stalking members of the Westboro Baptist Church in a car laden with several guns and almost 100 rounds of ammo.
Ryan Newell, 26, of Marion, had been held on $500,000 bond since his arrest last week after Sedgwick County officers said they saw him following members of Westboro Baptist Church leaving a protest in Mulvane. Officers said they found numerous firearms in his vehicle. On Tuesday, Judge Ben Burgess allowed Newell to leave jail on his own recognizance, on the condition that he report to a VA hospital. KSNW-TV reported Newell appeared in good spirits as he walked out of jail with his attorney.
Veterans groups from around the nation have reached out to Newell with offers of psychological help and fundraisers for his legal defense.

DC: Lesbian Judge Stalked By Ex

The Washington Post today reports the bizarre story of openly lesbian DC Superior Court Judge Janet Albert, who says she is being stalked by her ex-lover (left).
Days after D.C. Superior Court Magistrate Judge Janet Albert broke up with her girlfriend, the judge found her former companion unconscious in her attic, above her bedroom, with some food and an ice bucket fashioned into a makeshift toilet, authorities say. Investigators said Taylar Nuevelle had climbed into the attic through a door in Albert's bedroom closet and had been there for almost 24 hours, listening to Albert's telephone pleas to friends for help. Now, Nuevelle is on trial on charges of burglary, unlawful entry and stalking. Prosecutors allege that she began stalking Albert and harassing with her with hundreds of phone calls, threatening e-mails and text messages after the two ended their year-long relationship in 2008. She faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
Phone records show that Albert's ex called her almost 500 times in a one month period, including 139 times in one night. She also has a 1999 felony conviction for contempt from a custody battle case with her ex-husband.
