"Dear Joe, If you haven’t heard, the Gay Bill of Special Rights just passed in the Senate for the first time ever on Thursday. Public Advocate threw everything we had at the bill in the Senate. We stalled the vote for months as Harry Reid sought a filibuster-proof 60 supporters. But we spent nearly everything we had doing it. Now we need to do it all over again in the House of Representatives, but I’m sorry to say the money just isn’t there. The House reconvenes next week, and House Speaker John Boehner could bring the House version (H.R. 1755) up at any time.
