DC Priest To Gays: Stop All That Fucking

"A person with same-sex attraction is called to live celibately, like any unmarried heterosexual person. And though celibacy has its challenges (as does marriage) it can also be a very fulfilling way to live. Of this I am a witness. I am heterosexual, but I live celibately, not just because I am a priest, but because I am unmarried. And my life is very rich and fulfilling. I am not lonely, frustrated, or miserable. I suppose sex can be a source a happiness. But I have done enough counseling to know that sex can also be a source of stress, struggle, and yes, unhappiness. It is wrong to simplistically link sexual intercourse with happiness or to declare it a sine qua non for fulfillment. With this background in mind, I was pleased to see an article in the Washington Post that discusses the lives of those with same-sex attraction who choose to live celibately and in conformity with the teachings of the Church in this matter."- Father Charles Pope, writing for the Archdiocese of Washington.

PREVIOUSLY ON JMG:  Father Pope calls for the cancellation of NYC's 2015 St. Patrick's Day "anal sex celebration parade" over the inclusion of one LGBT group. Father Pope slams the legalization of gay adoption in Florida because "parthenogenesis" is not meant for humans. Father Pope denounces President Obama for citing scripture in his endorsement of same-sex marriage.

Archdiocese Of Washington: Disordered Gays Must Stop Having All That Homo Sex

"The Scriptures are very clear in unambiguously declaring homosexual acts as a serious sin and as disordered. 'Disordered' here means that they are acts that are not ordered to their proper end or purpose. Sexual acts are, by their very nature, ordered to procreation and to the bonding of the mother and father who will raise the children conceived by their sexual intimacy. These ends or purposes have been intrinsically joined by God, and we are not to separate what what God has joined. In the Old Testament, Scripture describes the sinful and disordered quality of homosexual acts by the use of the word 'abomination,' and in the New Testament, St. Paul calls homosexual acts 'paraphysin' (contrary to nature). There can be no sexual intercourse for any who are not in a valid heterosexual marriage. We cannot give approval for it; we do not have the power to do this, no matter how insistent, forceful, or even punitive the demands that we do so become. This will not change because it cannot change. Sadly those of unalterable same-sex attraction have no recourse to marriage. But all of us bear burdens of one sort or another, and not everyone is able to partake in everything life offers." - Father Charles Pope, writing for the Archdiocese of Washington.

RELATED: Two weeks ago Pope denounced the New York City St. Patrick's Day committee for authorizing an "anal sex celebration." Shortly after I publicized that column, the Archdiocese deleted it from their site.

DC Archdiocese: Cancel The St. Patrick's Day Parade "Anal Sex" Celebration

"We are being asked to raise toasts and to enjoy a night of frivolity with those who think it is acceptable to abort children by the millions each year, with those who think anal sex is to be celebrated as an expression of love and that LGBTQIA (I=intersexual, A= Asexual) is actually a form of sanity to which we should tip our hat, and with those who stand four-square against us over religious liberty. Now the St. Patrick’s Parade is becoming of parade of disorder, chaos, and fake unity. Let’s be honest: St. Patrick’s Day nationally has become a disgraceful display of drunkenness and foolishness in the middle of Lent that more often embarrasses the memory of Patrick than honors it.

"In New York City in particular, the 'parade' is devolving into a farcical and hateful ridicule of the faith that St. Patrick preached. It’s time to cancel the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the Al Smith Dinner and all the other 'Catholic' traditions that have been hijacked by the world. Better for Catholics to enter their churches and get down on their knees on St. Patrick’s Day to pray in reparation for the foolishness, and to pray for this confused world to return to its senses. Let’s do adoration and pray the rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet unceasingly for this poor old world." - Father Charles Pope, writing for the Archdiocese of Washington.
