COURT: Twin Girls Have Two Fathers

But this isn't a case involving gay men. Via CNN:
A New Jersey father has been ordered to pay child support for one girl in a set of twins after DNA tests proved he is not the father of both, according to court documents. The mother testified in a paternity case that, within a week's time, she had sexual intercourse with two men -- the man genetic tests confirmed as the father and another unidentified man. The judge acknowledged the unusual circumstances of the case in a ruling this week. "This is a case of first impression in New Jersey and only a handful of reported cases exist nationwide," Superior Court Judge Sohail Mohammed said in his ruling. The ruling cited a 1997 article published by DNA expert Dr. Karl-Hanz Wurzinger that said one in every 13,000 reported paternity cases involving twins have different fathers.
It's called heteropaternal superfecundation and is common for dogs and cats. The phenomenon's incidence among humans is somewhat greater than the reported cases indicate because of the relative rarity of paternity tests.

Headline Of The Day

Via Raw Story:
A DNA analysis proves that Holy Communion is a “fraud,” according to a hedonistic religious sect that believes humans were created by extraterrestrials about 25,000 years ago. The Association of Raelian Scientists published a study on October 25 they say refutes the Catholic claim of transubstantiation, in which bread and wine and actually become the physical body and blood of Jesus Christ. “Nobody can contest a simple DNA test like that conducted by our scientists,” Brigitte Boisselier, spokesperson for the Raelian Movement, said in a news release. “Supernatural statements of long-established organizations like the Catholic Church can be exposed for what they are, a poor sham from the Middle Ages that has no place in this new century. All scientists should educate the public.”
There's usually one or two Raelians wandering around Union Square with signs about Earth being under surveillance by extraterrestrials who will only return to this world they created when humans end war.

White Supremacist Told After DNA Test: "Hey, Bro! You Have A Little Black In You"

Via Raw Story:
A white supremacist who’s trying to set up a racist enclave in North Dakota received a shock during the taping of an upcoming daytime talk show. Craig Cobb submitted to a DNA test as part of an ongoing Race In America series on the syndicated “Trisha Show,” and host Trisha Goddard delivered some surprising test results to the 62-year-old hate crimes fugitive from Canada in an episode that will air Nov. 18. As her studio audience laughed with delight, Goddard, who is black, told Cobb that test results revealed his genetic ancestry was 86 European and 14 percent sub-Saharan African.
Cobb is claiming that the show's producers fixed the result.
