Duran Duran - Pressure Off

Billboard reports:
Duran Duran has dropped the first single from its upcoming album, Paper Gods, which arrives Sept. 18 in the United States. The new funky song -- titled "Pressure Off" -- features vocals by Janelle Monae. Paper Gods is the Duran Duran's 14th studio effort and first for Warner Bros. Records. (The band signed with the label in March.) The set was produced by Nile Rodgers, Mark Ronson, Mr. Hudson and Josh Blair. It also features guest turns from Kiesza, Lindsay Lohan and former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciant.
Rodgers also produced 1984's smash single The Wild Boys.

Janelle Monae On SNL

RELATED: Monae continues to be Latifah-esque about her sexual orientation.
Sway then asked if Monae dates men or women, but she declined to comment. “I keep my personal life very much to myself. I want everybody to focus on my music. I also don’t want to let anybody down,” she said. “I want women to still be attracted to me. Go get my album! I want men to still be attracted to me so I have to be political in this. I can’t really tell y’all!” Monae added, “I will say that I’m such an advocate for love. I think you should be able to love freely whoever you want.”

Janelle Monae & Erykah Badu: Queen

From Janelle Monae's coming release The Electric Lady, due in September.  I still go back to Monae's fantastic 2010 performance of Tightrope on Letterman.

Janelle Monae At CarolinaFest

Janelle Monae killed at CarolinaFest today. Killed. The best live show I've seen in a very long time. I stupidly didn't think to request backstage press access, which was handled separately from the DNC, but I did get a chance for a photo with Monae's amazing front men (guitarist left, keyboardist right), who couldn't have been any nicer. I'll have video as soon as it pops up on YouTube. [Top photos via Yahoo.]
