No Public Benefit: "Ex-Gay" Group Denied Charity Status In New Zealand

An "ex-gay" group related to Exodus International has been been judged to have "no public benefit" and therefore ineligible for charity status.
The Charities Commission says the Exodus Ministries Trust Board is not performing any public benefit, because being gay is not a mental disorder and does not need curing. The trust is affiliated with the United States-based Exodus Global Alliance, which promises "freedom from homosexuality through the power of Jesus Christ". It has had charitable status for more than a decade, but that status has now been removed by the Charities Commission under a regime introduced in 2007. The trust claimed it had a legitimate point of view and provided support to homosexuals during "very difficult times". It said a comparison could be made with Rainbow Youth having charitable status, "clearly an education provided by Rainbow Youth Inc. would be from a preconceived point of view, ie that homosexuality and other forms of sexuality are perfectly normal for some people."
It's a pity the same can't be done here.

PhoboQuotable- Bill McCollom

"I really do not think that we should have homosexuals guiding our children. I think that it’s a lifestyle that I don’t agree with. I realize a lot of people do. It’s my personal faith, religious faith, that I don’t believe that the people who do this should be raising our children. It’s not a natural thing. You need a mother and a father. You need a man and a woman. That’s what God intended." - Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum, saying that he'd like to see his state's ban on gay adoption extended to gay foster parenting.

In the above-linked interview with the Florida Baptist Press, McCollum again defends his hiring of Dr. George "Rentboy" Rekers. He further states his opposition to same-sex marriage and adds: "I don’t believe in involving the government in enforcing or encouraging the lifestyle of gays and homosexuals. I just don’t believe that."

More Gay Rights = More Mass Murders

Morality In Media president Robert Peters thinks there's a link between gay rights and mass murderers like the one who just killed 13 people in upstate New York. From his piece Connecting the Dots: The Link Between Gay Marriage and Mass Murders:
"For many citizens, what has replaced Judeo-Christian faith and values is the secular value system that is reflected in films, rap/music lyrics, and videogames and on TV and now the Internet, where the taking of human life for just about any reason is commonplace and is often portrayed in an appealing manner and in realistic detail. Murder motivated by hatred and revenge is also justified.

"This secular value system is also reflected in the 'sexual revolution,' which is the driving force behind the push for 'gay marriage;' and the Iowa Supreme Court decision is another indication that despite all the damage this revolution has caused to children, adults, family life and society (think abortion, divorce, pornography, rape, sexual abuse of children, sexually transmitted diseases, trafficking in women and children, unwed teen mothers and more), it continues to advance relentlessly. It most certainly is not my intention to blame the epidemic of mass murders on the gay rights movement! It is my intention to point out that the success of the sexual revolution is inversely proportional to the decline in morality; and it is the decline of morality (and the faith that so often under girds it) that is the underlying cause of our modern day epidemic of mass murders."
You can't make it up, people. Poe's Law.

CWA Launches "Obama Watch"

Via Jeremy at Good As You we learn that the Concerned Women For America have launched Obama Watch, a new feature dedicated to keep tabs on Barack Obama's promises to turn America into a socialist, baby killing, stem cell drinking, every-day-is-Folsom Street Fair-day kind of place.I am totally enjoying watching these people meltdown. Happy dance.
