Golden Globe Nominations Announced
Via USA Today:
Birdman led the movie nominations with seven; Boyhood and Imitation Game are next with five each. HBO led the TV nominations with 15. Selma, which was overlooked by the Screen Actors Guild, earned a nomination in the best motion picture, drama category. Jennifer Aniston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Eddie Redmayne and Michael Keaton were all nominated, as expected. And actor David Oyelowo from Selma joined the best-actor category. Aniston will compete with Rosamund Pike, Gone Girl; Reese Witherspoon, Wild; Felicity Jones, The Theory of Everything; and Julianne Moore, Still Alice.See the full list.

Jodie Foster Comes Out
I'll have video shortly.
UPDATE: From Mediaite writer Matt Wilstein:
Jodie Foster had the Golden Globes audience on the edge of their seats as she accepted the special Cecil B. DeMille Award. She began by thanking Robert Downey, Jr., who presented the award to her, but quickly went off in a more personal direction, hinting that she was about to announce something big. “So while I’m here being all confessional, I guess I just have a sudden urge to say something that I’ve never really been able to air in public… a declaration that I’m a little nervous about… but I’m just going to put it out there, loud and proud. And I’m going to need your support on this. I am, uh… single.” After the laughter and whistling died down, Foster sort-of clarified her intentions, saying “I’m not going to do a big coming out speech tonight. Because I already did my coming out speech about a thousand years ago, back in the stone age.”

Quote Of The Day - Tony Perkins
"As in past years, the Golden Globes proved that studios are far less concerned about entertaining people than they with indoctrinating them. Last night's awards were a celebration -- not of America's values, but of Hollywood's. Projects like The Kids Are All Right, Black Swan, Glee, and others were rewarded for pushing the cultural envelope or advancing a liberal political agenda. That may be how Hollywood defines 'success,' but it certainly isn't how audiences do. Neither of those films cracked the top 49 in last year's box office. In fact, The Kids Are All Right, which is the story of two lesbians raising a family, came in 113th in ticket sales. Toy Story 3, last year's box office winner, made 21 times more money than Kids did. What's more, Toy Story 3's $415,004,880 was more than all four R-rated nominees for Best Picture combined! Audiences want to be inspired and uplifted. They don't want to spend two hours covering their kids' eyes and ears." - Family Research Council spokeswhiner Tony Perkins, via a press release which notes that he didn't even watch the show.Labels: Family Reseach Council, Golden Globes, movies, Quote Of The Day, Tony Perkins
