Kevin Spacey Gets Knighted

Via the Daily Mail:
Kevin Spacey claims he feels like 'an adopted son' after being awarded an honorary knighthood for his services to culture and British theatre. The US star, who is finishing a 10-year run as artistic director at London's Old Vic theatre, said he was 'honored and humbled' by the recognition and thanked Britons for supporting his work. He was just one of a host of film stars to be given a gong in this year's Queen's Honours List - with Benedict Cumberbatch winning a CBE and Eddie Redmayne an OBE. The two-times Academy Award winner took over as artistic director of the Old Vic in 2003 and is widely credited with helping turn around the once struggling theatre.
As a foreigner, Spacey doesn't get the title "Sir." Also receiving a knighthood was veteran blues artist Van Morrison.

Kevin Spacey To Host 2016 CNN Series Titled Race To The White House

Via Mediaite:
In the first move to collapse the distance between reality and House of Cards that could only end with him running for office, Kevin Spacey, better known to Acela corridor binge-watchers as President Frank Underwood, will produce and narrate a six-part series for CNN called Race to the White House, set to air in 2016. “Using previously unseen archive footage, interviews with key players and dramatic recreations, each episode narrated by Spacey will tell the story of one campaign for the Presidency of the United States,” CNN wrote in a release Monday. “Each hour will tell the story of a four-year, no-holds-barred battle to become the most powerful person in the world, culminating in a single night of heart pounding tension. From powerful campaign speeches to the dirty tricks and Machiavellian schemes, Race for the White House will capture the drama of how a high-stakes presidential election can turn on a single issue and so much more.”
The Spacey series is one of a dozen coming from CNN as they continue to move away from 24-hour live news coverage.

Quote Of The Day - Kevin Spacey

"Look, at the end of the day people have to respect people's differences. I am different than some people would like me to be. I just don't buy into that the personal can be political. I just think that's horseshit. No one's personal life is in the public interest. It's gossip, bottom line. End of story. Now some people feed that. They'll go to the trendy restaurants where all the photographers are and then bitch about being famous. But if you don't want to feed that and you want your life to be based around what your work is then it ends there." - Oscar winner Kevin Spacey, taking a page from Queen Latifah in a Daily Beast interview that asks why he won't officially come out.
