This Is An Ad For Something

From British Airways:
We teamed up with Out of the Blue, Oxford University's all male a capella group, for a very special version of Wham’s classic hit ‘Club Tropicana’ The 14-strong group flew to Malta with the airline to recreate the summer hit and bring the taste of sunshine and pina coladas tantalisingly close to Brits looking forward to their next break in the sun. The video, which was filmed at one of BA Holidays featured hotels - The Corinthia St George’s Bay in Malta - follows the original, complete with deep tans, lilos, cocktails and shades.
JMG tipster Rich says this the "gayest 'non-gay' ad travel ad" that he's ever seen.

British Airways Suspends Three Pilots over Anti-Gay Facebook Comments

Three pilots have been suspended by British Airways after they made anti-gay comments on their Facebook pages. The action comes as the airline is suffering the longest employee strike in its history, forcing the pilots to work as flight attendants.
Three British Airways pilots were yesterday suspended after branding passengers "wankers", "faggots" and "tossers". The Mirror revealed their foul-mouthed tirade on Facebook. One described cabin crew as "bum bandits". Adam Corfield and Jonathan Harman, both BA 747 first officers and BA Airbus A320 pilot John Lincoln are under investigation after standing in for crew during walkouts. Meanwhile, striking BA staff have complained to Parliament about working in a "climate of fear". A motion tabled by Labour MP Jim Sheridan, signed by 27 MPs, warned that the ''longest-running strike... can only be damaging to the reputation and standing of the UK's national carrier.'' There was still no sign of a deal yesterday and the union is poised to ballot for more strikes to hit at the peak of summer holiday flights.
Britain's LGBT rights group Stonewall says they are satisfied with the airline's response.

You Can't Sit There, You Might Molest

A man in the UK is suing British Airways for making him move to another seat on a flight out of London. According to company policy, adult men are not allowed to sit next to children unrelated to them. Because we're all potential child molesters.
In line with the policy, BA cabin crew patrol the aisles before take-off checking that youngsters traveling on their own or in a different row from their parents are not next to a male stranger. If they find a man next to a child or teenager they will ask him to move to a different seat. The aircraft will not take off unless the passenger obeys. Mr Fischer, a 33-year-old hedge fund manager, became aware of the policy while he was flying from Gatwick with his wife Stephanie, 30. His wife, who was six months pregnant, had booked a window seat which she thought would be more spacious. Mr Fischer was in the middle seat between her and a 12-year-old boy. Shortly after all passengers had sat down, having stowed their bags in the overhead lockers, a male steward asked Mr Fischer to change his seat. Mr Fischer refused, explaining that his wife was pregnant, at which point the steward raised his voice, causing several passengers to turn round in alarm. He warned that the aircraft could not take off unless Mr Fischer obeyed. Mr Fischer eventually moved seats but felt so humiliated by his treatment that he is taking the airline to court on the grounds of sex discrimination-He is paying all his own legal.
British Airways instituted the policy in 2001. Qantas and Air New Zealand have similar rules.
