FRANCE: Catholic Theocrats Parade Donkeys At Paris Anti-Gay Marriage March
Joining today's anti-gay march in Paris was the Civitas Institute, a group that demands a Catholic theocracy for France. According to Civitas, President Francois Hollande is a "puppet of the Freemasons." They were followed by members of the extreme-right Nationalist Youth (above), a division of the National Front party, whose leader Marine Le Pen praised the Notre Dame suicide of Dominique Venner.
UPDATE: Civitas claims that 10,000 of its followers attended today's march. Via Google Translate:
Catholics and French patriots wanted to show their commitment to marriage, the family, and the values that are the soul of our country and that the greatness of our civilization. This marriage law is so clearly opposed to basic common sense and the common good of society, it becomes illegitimate and there is no way we will respect or obey it. This May 26 will mark the transformation of the French Spring into a revolution. Remain focused! The slogan remains the same: Destroy the enemies of marriage, family and France.
Courtesy of Fly Life Inc, today's Swag Tuesday booty is Faith Remastered, a special new deluxe remixed double CD of the classic 1987 George Michael album. Faith Remasteredwill be available on the artist's website beginning February 1st.
Of the many events that truly define the evolution of global pop at the end of the 20th century, the release of George Michael’s debut solo album, Faith, in November 1987, occupies a special place in music history. Spending 87 weeks on the Billboard 200 albums chart (including 12 weeks at #1 in 1988), a rare RIAA diamond certification (for U.S. sales in excess of 10 million units, the biggest selling album of 1988, by far), and the Grammy Award as Album Of The Year – are just the tip of the Faith iceberg. Added to it are the album’s six top-charted singles: “I Want Your Sex,” “Faith,” “Father Figure,” “One More Try,”“Monkey” and “Kissing A Fool..” Together, they maintained George Michael’s presence on the Hot 100 for a cumulative 85+ weeks, from 1987 to 1989. Written, produced and arranged entirely by George, Faith was a singular achievement that placed him at a level of royal stardom in the ’80s alongside Michael Jackson, Elton John, Paul McCartney and Madonna.
We have five copies of Faith Remastered to give away. Enter to win by commenting on this post. Only enter once and please remember to leave your email address in the text of your comment. Montreal's Divers/Cite climaxed yesterday with an all day street party called La Grande Danse, which was headlined by the red-hot Freemasons. This clip was shot quite early in the day while opener DJ Danny Verde was spinning and before it got super-packed. I'm told about attendance at the party peaked at around 40,000.
Grammy nominated DJ duo The Freemasons will headline this year's 24th annual Dance On The Pier, the culminating event of NYC Pride. The opening set will be spun by DJ Steven Oliverri. The Freemasons are white-hot right now and the Pier Dance usually sells out, so expect this year's event to do so quickly. Tickets go on sale May 1st.
