Maggie Gallagher Has The JONAH Sadz
"The Blaze is reporting that an independent film about same-sex attraction called 'Audacity' had generated 130,000 views for its trailer on YouTube when the trailer was abruptly pulled by YouTube in response to user complaints. YouTube has not specifically said why the trailer was pulled, but its policies include 'commercially deceptive' content as a possible reason. I have not seen the trailer in question, but it occurs to me to ask: are we seeing the first fruits of a new post-JONAH strategy by the gay rights community to shut down speech? The SPLC had announced that 70 other religious nonprofits that help people with same-sex attraction live 'nongay' lives were in its targets. But I wonder, are these the first fruits of their victory?" - Maggie Gallagher, referring to the latest anti-gay film by banana man Ray Comfort. (Tipped by JMG reader Christopher)

Viral Video Of The Day
Via TIME Magazine:
"This is something that is a part of me and has always been a part of me" YouTube beauty expert Ingrid Nilsen had an important message for her 3.3 million followers this morning, announcing in an emotional 20-minute video that she is gay. The video, which garnered more than 900,000 hits in just eight hours, featured an alternately tearful and pensive Nilsen explaining how she decided to come clean about something very personal. “I have had this wall up for so much of my life, but it wasn’t like this brick or stone wall,” she said. “I’ve described it to my friends as this glass wall, where you could see me but you were never getting all of me, because there was always that barrier there.”The clip already has two million views.

YouTube Copyright System Yanks Rand Paul's Presidential Announcement Clip
Rand Paul entered and exited the stage today to the tune of an anti-Wall Street country song owned by Warner Brothers. So of course YouTube's magic genie recognized the track as copyrighted material and blocked the clip from further viewing. Snicker.

Tech Industry Coalition Issues Statement Calling For Full Federal LGBT Rights
In response to the ongoing RFRA battles, a coalition of over 100 major tech industry corporations has issued a joint statement calling for full federal LGBT anti-discrimination protections.
The values of diversity, fairness and equality are central to our industry. These values fuel creativity and inspiration, and those in turn make the U.S. technology sector the most admired in the world today. We believe it is critically important to speak out about proposed bills and existing laws that would put the rights of minorities at risk. The transparent and open economy of the future depends on it, and the values of this great nation are at stake.Signees include Google, Microsoft, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Linkedin, Yahoo, Netflix, Intuit, Uber, Salesforce, Cisco Systems, and PayPal. Hit the link for the full list.
Religious freedom, inclusion, and diversity can co-exist and everyone including LGBT people and people of faith should be protected under their states’ civil rights laws. No person should have to fear losing their job or be denied service or housing because of who they are or whom they love. However, right now those values are being called into question in states across the country. In more than twenty states, legislatures are considering legislation that could empower individuals or businesses to discriminate against LGBT people by denying them service if it they felt it violated their religious beliefs.
To ensure no one faces discrimination and ensure everyone preserves their right to live out their faith, we call on all legislatures to add sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes to their civil rights laws and to explicitly forbid discrimination or denial of services to anyone. Anything less will only serve to place barriers between people, create hurdles to creativity and inclusion, and smother the kind of open and transparent society that is necessary to create the jobs of the future. Discrimination is bad for business and that’s why we've taken the time to join this joint statement.

Proposition Jake
Clip recap:
Hey Gang! So there's this ridiculous bill circulating the Attorney Generals Office of California that calls for the execution of Gay TV Characters!..... Wait no... I mean the execution of REAL GAY people. What's called the "Sodomite Suppression Act" (rude) is legislation that essentially legalizes the execution of gay people by "bullets" to the head is not only completely insane but also in itself illegal. Why is our government circulating it in the first place? What state am I living in? What century is it?

Colombian YouTube Star Has Two Moms
Adoption by same-sex couples is presently before the courts in Colombia and this weekend local YouTube star Sebastian Villalobos, 19, who has 1.2M subscribers, revealed that he has two moms. The clip below has gone viral and already has over half a million views. The full Villalobos family appears at the 8:00 mark.
Earlier this month the Colombian Constitutional Court deadlocked on the gay adoption bill. A final decision is pending from an outside judge considered to be conservative. Last week the faculty of a major Colombian university issued a brief in which they declare homosexuality to be an illness.
La Sabana University’s faculty of medicine stated that homosexuals are “away from the common, which is somehow a disease” and suffer “an anomaly,” in a report sent to the Constitutional Court regarding an ongoing debate on gay couples’ right to adopt. “Gay and lesbian people deserve our respect as people, but it should be noted their behavior deviates from the common, which is somehow a disease,” stated university professor, Dr. Pablo Arango, in the four page report. Homosexuals “exhibit… higher rate of mental illness, suffer more often from HIV/AIDS and other STDs, with a higher rate of suicide,” and that “these same-sex couples are much more unstable” and “commit more sexual abuse,” said the report. Homosexual relationships offer a greater possibility of children displaying such “disruptive behavior as drug abuse, eating disorders, school failure, bad behavior in class and more often suffer the traumatic experiences of separation and divorce,” said the report.
