Men outnumber women in the armed forces by almost 10-1, but the right wing is going nuts over a recently-released study which shows that more men than women have reported sexual assaults.  The numbers have risen because because the military has been encouraging victims to make reports. Anti-gay weirdo and Porno Pete's BFF Judith Reisman writes for World Net Daily:

Why is the best-kept military secret that most soldierly sexual assaults are now definitively homo, not heterosexual, male-on-male sexual exploitation? The corporate dictionary definition of “sexual assault” is “to knowingly cause another person to engage in an unwanted sexual act by force or threat; ‘most states have replaced the common law definition of rape with statutes defining sexual assault.’”

While men are statistically more loathe to report their sexual victimization than are women, 10,700 male soldiers, sailors and airmen in 2010 actually reported their sexual assaults. What this means is not totally clear, since men are cannot technically be raped, despite the term being regularly used in the recent hearings on the matter.

The Washington Times reported “The Defense Department estimates 19,000 sexual assaults occur each year, but only 17 percent are ever reported. In 2010 … 8,600 victims [who reported were female, an incredible 4 percent of the women in the military that year], and 10,700 victims were male, reported the Service Woman’s Action Network.”

Bolding is mine. Reisman, who acknowledges that some of the sexual assault reports are likely the result of hazing, goes on to blame (of course) the repeal of DADT and the availability of gay porn.

The politically correct Naval report ignores the Big Porn Elephant in the room as normalizing the rapes of women and the homosexist assaults on fellow servicemen. While “heterosexual” pornography has commonly been used to arouse and then seduce “straights” into homosexual sex, “gay” pornography is widely available in mainstream homosexist publications like The Advocate Classified. And, buff, “straight” military men are regularly depicted there as preferred, sexual targets.

FLORIDA: HIV-Positive Man Arrested After Alleged Rape At Orlando Gay Hotel

Orlando police say they've arrested an HIV-positive man after he allegedly raped a male patron in a hotel room at the famed Parliament House.

Kenneth Creuzer, 48, told investigators the door to the man's room was open, so he walked in and assaulted him as he lay on his stomach, a police report states. Leaving a door ajar and the blinds open while lying facedown is known as an invitation to sex, Creuzer told investigators. The man told officers he was asleep about 3:05 p.m. when he heard someone come in and assumed it was his boyfriend. When he realized it was not, he began to punch Creuzer, who ran out of the room, according to the report. Creuzer and the man are strangers, and Creuzer was not a guest at the motel, which is part of a resort that includes bars, a restaurant, pool parties and female-impersonator shows. Parliament House, at 410 N. Orange Blossom Trail, calls itself "the gayest place on Earth" and "a gay landmark" on its website.

The suspect has been charged with sexual battery and failing to disclose his HIV status. The long-popular Parliament House has been an alternately beloved and notorious Florida destination for tourists since it converted into a gay hotel in 1975.

UK: Campaign On Male Rape Launched

The imagery and tag line of the campaign is raising eyebrows. Here's the press release:

Survivors UK, the charity that supports victims of male rape and sexual abuse, has launched a new campaign by start-up Johnny Fearless. 'Real Men' aims to play to the fact that rugby players, irrespective of sexuality, are seen as the archetypal 'alpha males'. The poster campaign launches during the England home games at the 2012 6 Nations Rugby tournament across London Underground, Waterloo Station and selected OOH Sites on a very limited budget.

On Hate Crimes And Prison Rape

Several times in recent weeks, commenters on this and other LGBT blogs have feuded over reader statements that the perpetrators of hate crimes deserve to get raped in prison. This has generated a number of complaining emails to me, including a couple from LGBT prisoner activists. Pertinent to that issue, the photos above are part of a new awareness campaign from Just Detention International, a group working to reduce the number of sexual assaults on prisoners.

JDI works to end the sexual abuse of all detainees, in the U.S. and internationally. When the government takes away someone’s freedom, it has a responsibility to protect that person’s safety. All inmates have the right be treated with dignity. No matter what crime someone has committed, sexual violence must never be part of the penalty. The reason JDI does this work is simple: sexual abuse in detention is a perversion of justice and an affront to our society’s essential values. But sexual abuse in detention is preventable. It is possible to put an end to this type of violence. JDI is the only organization in the U.S., and perhaps in the world, that focuses exclusively on ending rape behind bars.

As satisfying as some may find such casual wishes of revenge, we really need to rein that stuff in, folks. It doesn't help.

Male Rape Rampant In Congo

The New York Times reports that armed militias are raping male villagers in the Congo in order to force them into submitting to their control.

According to Oxfam, Human Rights Watch, United Nations officials and several Congolese aid organizations, the number of men who have been raped has risen sharply in recent months, a consequence of joint Congo-Rwanda military operations against rebels that have uncapped an appalling level of violence against civilians. Aid workers struggle to explain the sudden spike in male rape cases. The best answer, they say, is that the sexual violence against men is yet another way for armed groups to humiliate and demoralize Congolese communities into submission. The United Nations already considers eastern Congo the rape capital of the world, and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is expected to hear from survivors on her visit to the country next week. Hundreds of thousands of women have been sexually assaulted by the various warring militias haunting these hills, and right now this area is going through one of its bloodiest periods in years.

Many of the victims refuse to come forward or seek medical attention as those that do become outcasts to their communities, referred to derisively as "bush wives."
