Dems To Advertisers: Drop Rush Limbaugh

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has launched a campaign calling on advertisers to drop Rush Limbaugh.  Via Politico:

Today's blast email from DCCC Chairman Steve Israel asks supporters to sign a petition calling on Limbaugh's sponsors to pull their advertising from his program. The effort comes after Limbaugh protested an Ohio State policy instructing students to get verbal consent before having sex because, Limbaugh said, "no" sometimes means "yes." "How many guys, in your own experience with women, have learned that no means yes if you know how to spot it?" Limbaugh said. "Are these [policies] not lawsuits waiting to happen?" Wrote Israel, "Comments of this offensive nature are inexcusable... Rush Limbaugh is advocating for the tolerance of sexual assault. He should be taken off the air immediately." The email then directs recipients to a form where they are required to fill out their email address and have the option of supplying the DCCC with their zip code.

CANADA: Priest Found Guilty Of Raping Dozens Of Children And A Dog

So this happened in Canada:

A defrocked Catholic priest was found guilty Friday of raping dozens of children and a sled dog in the Canadian Arctic, where he worked as a missionary for decades. The Belgian-born Eric Dejaeger, 67, was convicted of 31 counts of sexual offenses against children and one count of bestiality. At the start of the his trial last November in Iqaluit, the capital of Canada's northernmost Nunavut territory, Dejaeger acknowledged and pleaded guilty to eight out of 80 original charges. Justice Robert Kilpatrick ruled the evidence had been weakened by the passage of time, and whittled down the number in the indictment. The defense and prosecution have 30 days to appeal the decision. Otherwise, Dejaeger is expected to be back in court in January for sentencing. The Iqaluit court clerk told AFP that more than 20 victims from the Inuit hamlet of Igloolik, on the shores of the Northwest Passage, testified at the emotionally charged trial.

Dejaeger also has a 1990 conviction for sexually assaulting eight children.

Star of Guns-Themed Show Busted For Repeated Rape Of 11 Year-Old Daughter

Will Hayden (above center), star of the Discovery Channel's Sons Of Guns reality show, has been arrested for repeatedly raping his 11 year-old daughter.

The allegations have prompted the cancellation of his Discovery Channel series. “Given the serious and horrific nature of the charges against Will Hayden, we have decided to halt further production of 'Sons of Guns' and cancel the series," the network said in a statement. Hayden is accused of raping a minor “almost daily” since March 2013 and taking her virginity when she was 11 years old. TMZ reports the girl is Hayden’s daughter. During an interview with detectives, the alleged victim said she did not report the sexual abuse because she was afraid Hayden would hurt her. The most recent abuse of the now-12-year-old girl occurred during July 2014, according to the documents. According to police documents, the alleged victim claims that Hayden told her “don’t tell them nothing because I’m all you got.” Hayden was booked on Wednesday and his bail is set at $250,000. There was a warrant out for Hayden’s arrest, and The Times-Picayune reports he was apprehended in Livingston as a fugitive from East Baton Rouge.

PHILADELPHIA: Cops Arrest Suspect In Grindr Rape And Robbery Case

Philadelphia police have arrested a man suspected in the April rape, robbery and beating of a Canadian tourist who met his assailant on Grindr. Due to surveillance video, the suspect had been publicly named by the police on the day after the crime. Philly Mag has the police report on the arrest:

"The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office has charged 26-year-old Douglass Casey with Indecent Deviant Sexual Intercourse (IDSI), Sexual Assault, Robbery, Kidnapping for Ransom, Theft, Unlawful Restraint, Terroristic Threats, False Imprisonment, Simple Assault and [reckless endangerment.] Casey is charged with assaulting and robbing a man he met on ‘Grindr’ in a Philadelphia hotel on April 9, 2014. Casey was arraigned, bail was set at $1 million dollars and his next court date is scheduled for June 26, 2014.”

NOTE: It appears that "deviant sexual intercourse" is the umbrella term for several categories of rape in Pennsylvania. The term seems to be gender-neutral.

RELATED: In a separate case, a Philadelphia-area man was reportedly beaten to death last month by someone he met on Grindr. There has been no arrest in that case.

400+ Year Sentence For Leader In "Targeted" Gang Rape Of Lesbian

The ringleader of a 2008 gang rape of a Richmond woman who was allegedly targeted because she is a lesbian and then taunted was sentenced to more than 400 years to life in prison. Humberto Salvador, 36, of Richmond was found guilty in December of rape in concert, forcible oral copulation in concert, kidnapping for sexual purposes and kidnapping for the purpose of carjacking. At a hearing Friday, Judge Susanne Fenstermacher sentenced Salvador to 411 years to life. The victim wasn't in court, but prosecutor Melissa Smith read a statement by her partner. "She has lost the will to live," the statement read. "Although she is alive, they killed her inside."

The three other perpetrators pleaded guilty. Their sentences: 13 years, 24 years, 31 years.

DELAWARE: Deputy AG Charged With Rape Of Teen He Met On Grindr

Delaware Deputy Attorney General Daniel Simmons has been charged with the rape of a 16 year-old he met on Grindr.

New Castle County police say 34-year-old Daniel Simmons faces four counts of fourth-degree rape. Simmons is a deputy attorney general assigned to the county's Misdemeanor Trial Unit. Police say Simmons met the boy through a social media app called Grindr and not during the performance of his public duties. The attorney general's office says in a statement that Simmons has been placed on administrative leave. The office approved warrants for Simmons' arrest on Friday. Attorney General Beau Biden did not make any comments.

News reports do not state whether Simmons knew of the boy's age or how the charges came to be brought. According to Delaware law, among the conditions for a fourth-degree rape charge is when the victim is under 18, the perpetrator is over 30, and the two are not married. Class C felonies are punishable in Delaware by up to 15 years in prison.

CALIFORNIA: Pastor Faith-Heals With His Penis, Faces Multiple Felony Sex Charges

A California pastor faces multiple felony sexual assault charges after telling female parishioners that he could heal them. With his penis and tongue, apparently.

Jorge Juan Castro, 53, was arrested last Friday on allegations that during his eight years as associate pastor at Las Buenas Nuevas Church in Norwalk, he repeatedly sexually assaulted at least 20 parishioners. He told the alleged victims who questioned the sex acts that they were part of the faith-healing process, said L.A. County Sheriff's Capt. Robert Esson. "He claimed to have healing hands and ulitized that process to eventually sexually assault them," Esson said. "He preyed upon them from a trust position. He warned them they'd be the subject of ridicule in the church if they told others." After surveillance by undercover major-crimes detectives, Castro was arrested Sept. 13 at his home in Norwalk and booked on charges of rape, penetration by a foreign object and oral copulation. He is already charged with six felony counts, but that number is expected to rise.

Castro reportedly threatened to have his victims deported if they complained.

RUSSIA: Video Of Gay Man Raped By Vigiliantes Spreads On Social Media

A video depicting a man being raped with a bottle has surfaced on social media, in what appears to be the latest assault on Russia's beleaguered homosexual community. The series of short clips, making the rounds on the mobile phone application WhatsApp show the victim, who seems to be an ethnic Uzbek, being bullied into confessing that he is gay. He is asked to identify himself and is stripped of his clothes, which are later burned. He is then handcuffed, beaten, insulted, and threatened with a gun. Ultimately, he is forced to sodomize himself by sitting on a bottle, which is then pushed with a bat. The man, visibly terrified, weeps throughout much of the ordeal.

According to a person taking credit for the attack, the victim and the perpetrators are ethnic Uzbeks. He tells the local press: "We did this to protect the dignity of Uzbeks. We live and work here, we are in contact with people of different nationalities. There will be no respect for us otherwise." (Tipped by JMG reader Daniel)

Gay Nightclub Sued By Two Women Who Claim They Were Raped By Staffers

Popular West Hollywood gay nightclub The Abbey is being sued by two women who claim that they were drugged and raped by club staffers.

According to the lawsuit a gay woman who says she had never had sexual relations with a man was at The Abbey with her girlfriend in November, 2011. She says she and her girlfriend had a fight, which upset the alleged victim. She ordered a drink at the bar and claims it was laced with a date rape drug. The woman then claims she became impaired and a busboy allegedly took her outside and raped her. Another woman -- who is straight -- claims she went to The Abbey in April, 2011, and was served a drink that was also allegedly laced with a date rape drug. She alleges an undocumented worker at The Abbey then took her across the street to his car and raped her.

The owners of The Abbey have declined comment. The two women are each seeking $10M in damages.

GOP Rep. Todd Akin: "Legitimately Raped" Women Don't Get Pregant

The blogosphere imploded today when Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) appeared on a talk show to declare that women who are "legitimately raped" do not get pregnant. And therefore abortion should be illegal in all cases. Akin's name and "legitimate rape" are now top trending topics on Twitter. Even the vicious teabaggers at Twitchy are appalled. Akin is running to unseat Sen. Clair McCaskill.

A 1996 study by the American Journal of Obstetricians and Gynecologists found “rape-related pregnancy occurs with significant frequency” and is “a cause of many unwanted pregnancies” — an estimated “32,101 pregnancies result from rape each year.” In a tweet, McCaskill said she was “stunned” by Akin’s comments. Akin is perhaps the boldest among a crop of conservative 2012 nominees who could hamper GOP efforts to take back the Senate in the fall. Akin has called for an end to the school-lunch program and a total ban on the morning-after pill.

Akin is leading McCaskill by as more than eight points in the most recent polls. This may change that, don't you think?
