Tittygate Fallout: RNC Chief Of Staff Ken McKay Falls On His Sword

RNC chairman Michael Steele continues to find fall guys for the Club Voyeur tittygate scandal. This time it's his chief of staff, Ken McKay.
The resignation of Ken McKay, Steele's highest-ranking aide, is the most drastic in a series of attempts at damage control by the RNC after it was revealed March 29 that the committee had spent $1,900 to entertain young donors at a risqué West Hollywood nightclub. The staff member who authorized the expenditure was fired last week, and the RNC has implemented new spending accountability procedures. "The members of the Republican National Committee entrusted myself and every staffer to lead the loyal opposition against the destructive Obama agenda, build a stronger Republican Party and win elections," Steele said in a statement. "This is a role I take with the utmost seriousness. With this in mind, I want to do everything in my power to ensure that the committee uses all its resources in the best possible fashion."
Teabaggers and some centrist Republicans continue to call for Steele himself to step down.

Quote Of The Day - Tony Perkins

"I've hinted at this before, but now I am saying it -- don't give money to the RNC. If you want to put money into the political process, and I encourage you to do so, give directly to candidates who you know reflect your values. Better yet, become a member of FRC Action and learn about the benefits it offers, including participating in the FRC Action PAC which can support candidates who will advance faith, family and freedom." - Family Research Council head Tony Perkins, calling the religious right to cease funding the GOP because of their love for titty bars and fake lesbians in bondage. Whee!

Carrie Prejean Topless: Tittygate Goes On

Via Wonder Of Wonder:
It seems Carrie “biblically correct” Prejean forgot to tell pageant organizers about yet another set of topless photographs. TMZ is reporting the new pictures were taken just last year. Prejean had originally stated that there was only one topless photo of her, which she maintained was taken when she was a 17 year old girl and the photographer (which she refuses to name) took advantage of her naïveté. Donald Trump will decide later today if Carrie gets to keep the Miss California crown.
Yesterday Prejean appeared with James Dobson on Focus On The Family's radio show to say that Perez Hilton was channeling Satan when he asked her about gay marriage:
"I felt as though Satan was trying to tempt me in asking me this question. And then God was in my head and in my heart saying, "Do not compromise this. You need to stand up for me and you need to share with all these people . . . you need to witness to them and you need to show that you're not willing to compromise that for this title of Miss USA. And I knew right here that it wasn't about winning. It was about being true to my convictions."

Maggie Gallagher Reacts To Tittygate

Headline: NOM Condemns Personal Attacks On Carrie Prejean.
“Because Carrie honestly said what she believed in answer to a question--marriage is the union of a man and a woman-- she is now the subject of ongoing character assassination. The level of hatred directed at her is astonishing. Even more astonishing is her personal courage and strength of character in the midst of these attacks. Of course Carrie is not perfect. On a personal note, as a former unwed mother, I want to say to Americans: you don’t have to be a perfect person to have the right to stand up for marriage. Nothing gay marriage advocates can do can change the fact—we all saw it on national TV—that Carrie is a young woman who surrendered all the glitter Hollywood has to offer, because she would not become the kind of person afraid to say the truth. Through Carrie, we are also learning, the lengths some people will go to hurt and harass those who speak up for marriage.”- Maggie Gallagher.
